Oh, I thought it was just online somewhere haha! Hopefully we will see more of their plans soon since they have announced it publicly.

The rumor is they are, but were looking for a new location to still have a Disney Store in the city. I guess this Times Square location will replace it. Works for me, a much better location.

Sounds excellent. I hope the Disney Stores can be revived and do nicely like the Apple Stores do.

It's confirmed that the 5th Avenue World of Disney is closing by the end of the year. The store actually was a "Disney Store" prior to the sale of the chain to the Children's Place. When they sold the chain, Disney held on to the NYC location and gave it to Parks and Resorts. Now that Disney controls the stores again, the new flagship (whenever it happens) will also be a Disney Store again.

Well, hopefully because it will be so big, it will still have some of the figurines and other stuff for ADULTS and not just kids tees and toys like the mall Disney stores

One of the main reasons we go to NYC is to go to the Disney store. It's a lot cheaper and quicker to go to the mall. And if it's the same stuff as they can get elsewhere, why would people buy as much there? Ugh, I really hope this is more than just a Disney store

Not sure of the square footage of what they plan to put in Time's Square but when it was the flagship store, before being World of Disney, they still carried much more than what the malls carried. I would hope for the same again. They always carried items that were available in the parks and art/collectibles even when the mall stores had stopped. ...Though with the way Disney Store has been operating...who knows what to expect
