Long Live Michael Eisner!!!

Isn't it about time we give credit where it is due to Michael Eisner for "green lighting" Pirates and all the cool stuff at Disneyland? I say yes. After all, these things are all planned well in advance and even though he isn't there for all the cudos, he did get all of it into motion. Don't even start to argue that.

Take Pixar. He did a great job of setting everything up for Bob by getting Jobs to hate him, just so Bob could cuddle up and swoop in and acquire the whole company. It's called "good cop, bad cop". Legendary reverse negotiation.

Look at how he made the Animation Department look really weak so Pixar would want to come and in make it better. do you think they would have merged if WDA looked liked stars? NEVER. Deliberately making a dog like Chicken Little took guts. Same thing with WDI and DCA. Who could have gotten them to sink so low and never crack a smile? He was a mastermind who selflessly sacrificed his own reputation so the company could rally back and awaken itself. Yoda must die for Luke to rise. Genius. Thank you Michael.

Do any of you have other great stories of Michavellean Eisnerisms?

Right..... I think you may need to get your air cooling checked.
He did good. That is true. And we do have the Michael D. Eisner building.

I do think Eisner did a faboulous job. However I'm still not convinced that Pixar is a good thing for Disney.

Re: Long Live Michael Eisner!!!

At first Eisner was good for Disney, at the end he was just an annoying, unsightly pimple on the face of Disney that was hard to get rid of .

Re: Long Live Michael Eisner!!!

Eisner was just a flash in the pan. A very bringht, blinding, bald, and ugly flash in the pan at that. The kind of flash that could blind a person. The kind of flash that could give children nightmares. The kind of flash.....well you get my point.
