![]() | Favorite Episode From Anthology Series From the anthology series...Disneyland, Walt Disney Presents, The Wonderful World of Color/Disney....what is your all-time favorite episode and why? Wouldn't it be nice if Disney made these episodes available in video or DVD? BTW-my favorite episode is called "Magic Highway USA" from 1958. It was an exciting time in America with the building of the interstate highway system and families growing...plus Disneyland expanding. I just love showing these episodes to my kids on Sunday evenings. They are so positive, so entertaining and some are even educational. www.magicalhotel.com |

| Nice Guy ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Favorite Episode From Anthology Series Had to be one of three. Davey Crocket, Johny Tremaine or Swamp Fox. They were full of action and had great story lines. Of course the cinematogrqohy is awsome in all of them. Lastly, all three had great casting.

![]() | Re: Favorite Episode From Anthology Series I have to also admit to a soft spot for Davy Crockett. I really only bought them because I was buying all of the Treasures, and still do, but instantly discovered one of my favourite shows of all-time. It's a little bit of a western, and a little bit Disney. It makes me wonder why Disney doesn't produce any more westerns. They could really tie that in with Frontierland in the parks if they wanted to. I also really enjoy anything that looks at the parks: the 10th Anniversary Special, especially. |

![]() | Re: Favorite Episode From Anthology Series There was one they did... "A Day At Beetle Rock" that I absolutely adored (and still do). Mainly cause it was filmed about 1/2 hour from my house. To this day I can't drive by and not think of that show. |

![]() | Re: Favorite Episode From Anthology Series I liked the show where the Osmonds come to sing at Disneyland. I know it's a bit cheesy, but it shows a lot of the park.

![]() | Re: Favorite Episode From Anthology Series It's hard to pick just one because there are many that I love for different reasons. But, I think it would have to be From Pirates of the Caribbean to the World of Tomorrow. I can still remember how excited my schoolmates and I were the next day after it first aired and we talked about it all week. If I didn't already think that Disneyland had to be the most wonderful place in the world by then (I hadn't yet been there), that show surely cinched it! Many years later, long after I had forgotten the specifics of the show, I had this strange memory of something about "going up a waterfall" bouncing around in my brain and didn't know why that stuck in my head, or where it was from. Then, I got to see that show again on Vault Disney, ah, there it was in that show - Walt talking about going up a waterfull on Pirates! |

![]() | Re: Favorite Episode From Anthology Series I think every kid who grew up during the 1950s loved the "science factual" Disneyland episodes like "Mars and Beyond" and "Magic Highway USA". Most of these episodes are now available on DVD, but we're all still waiting for "Magic Highway USA". Like oldhotelguy, I was lucky enough to tape if from Vault Disney a few years ago, and recently transferred it to DVD. However, I couldn't find any jpg's to use in creating box art for my DVD. Many thanks to Janie for the great screenshots! I found "MiceChat.com while desperately searching the web, trying to find images to use for the box art. I never expected to find what I was looking for on message board. As soon as I get the box art all finished, using those screenshots, I'll post a picture of it so you can all see it -- and print it, if you have a self-made DVD of your own that needs box art. |

![]() | Re: Favorite Episode From Anthology Series My favorite episode is called "Firehouse after Dark" and features Walt interviewing different Ambassador candidates from the victorian sofa in his Apartment. First time I ever saw him wearing a satin smoking jacket. A great way to meet and know a bit more about the special talents each contestant had. Each girl had to show her skills using a riding crop or whip, park trivia, guest relations, CPR, and gymnastics. Walt really put them through their paces. Fascinating at how many things they had to know. Jan 1957.
