  • Marne-la-Valee - Outside Paris on what was previously farmland.
  • Penny's Bay, Lantau - Hong Kong is an island and the larger region.
The area mentioned in this rumor is outside of Dallas, Texas and thus it fits Disney's pattern for park and resort locations.

Why a swamp in the middle of Florida? Disney apparently does own land in Texas, but this is in the Houston, not Dallas, area.

They better get a handle on this problem before a MiceChat Invasion can be booked:
Frisco Vehicle Burglaries On The Rise

Tiani Jones
Reporting

(CBS 11 News)
Quote:
FRISCO
Lately in Frisco, burglars are not discriminating when it comes to make or model. It's opportunity, say police.

They ripped this section out to get to the stereo," Josh Waller said as he showed our crews the damage to his vehicle. He knows his shiny red truck is a target for break-ins. "The cops can't really do anything for you after that point."

"Our residents and our patrons are leaving their stuff right in the car," said Sergeant Gina McFarland, Frisco Police Department.

The city saw a 57 percent increase in car burglaries from 2005 to 2006, the largest increase they've ever seen, according to police. Most of the theft takes place in retail areas, where thieves are targeting what police call easy victims.

"It's nothing new to walk by a car a see a laptop sitting in the front seat or see a purse on the floor board," said Sergeant McFarland.

Residential areas have not been immune either. Rear driveways are giving thieves the perfect cover, because "[there's] less chance that they are going to be detected and they have plenty of time to look to see where their target is going to be," said Sergeant McFarland.

The police department has not only dedicated a unit to combating the problem, they've launched an education campaign to change habits.

Waller says for him, it's not necessary. It's a lesson he's already learned.

"You always have to have your guard up because anything can happen anywhere," said Waller.

Re: Disney bought a SuperBowl Ad to announce a new Disneyland park!

I got nothing against Texas and I know Disneylands are in random not really known places (well.. they're all known now but yeah..) but I doubt Disney is gonna invest in a park in Texas when they have 2 in this country already. People flock to Florida for all of the surrounding sights as well as DisneyWorld, people flock to California for LA and the OC and Disneyland.. why would they go to Texas?

Re: Disney bought a SuperBowl Ad to announce a new Disneyland park!

In keeping with the tradition of including fewer and fewer
attractions and lands in new Disney Parks, this new
Disneyland will Include:

Main Street: with a display of Walt's Desk .. . made out
of popsicle sticks A different Disney Princess will be
residing at the end of Main Street, Pocahontas, and instead
of a giant castle, a large TeePee will be constructed for the
entrance to Frontierland.

Frontierland will have a shooting arcade and burro rides,
and canoe rides. Frontierland will be home to DL Frisco's
largest and only eating area, The Alamo, featuring buffalo
burgers. Adjacent will be a copy of the Alamo, featuring
a movie telling the history of the Lonestar State. Be sure
to visit the branding exhibition!

The final land will be a copy of DCA's Paradise Pier, where
you can enjoy boardwalk games, a Giant pink Dinosaur
sunglass shop, the thrilling Jumpin' Jellyfish, and a carousel
featuring mules and buffalo.

Iger will be announcing that Disney is proud to announce this
project which was originally planned under previous Disney
CEO, Michael Eisner.

Re: Disney bought a SuperBowl Ad to announce a new Disneyland park!

I'd also rather have a 3rd Anaheim gate. As for the SuperBowl ad, I read something about Buena Vista. Do you think that has a tie-in to Disney? The following possibilities that the park ad could be under are:
-Buena Vista
-Walt Disney World
-Walt Disney

Buena Vista is related to Disney, as it is the name of several subsidies. Buena Vista Motion Picture Group is the collection of film studios owned by the Walt Disney Company. Buena Vista Distribution is the Walt Disney Company's distribution company. There are few others related to film, television, and music. Lake Buena Vista is one of the incorporated cities controlled by the Walt Disney Company in Florida. While having the city purchase the advertisement time would be an interesting way of going about doing things, I think the subsidies is more likely behind the purchase.

Why not call them and confirm your own rumor for us, thanks!
I believe it was 103.7 Mix something. http://www.kvil.com/ Or it could have been the oldies station that i think is 94.5 fm but i'm more than sure it was 103.7 fm.

Well I did a research thing on Google.com, nothing came up... I also went to Monday Night Raw here in Dallas Tx and was on my way and just got home around 11:30 pm, will work on contacting them or anyone can contact them, i included their website here.

A friend just told me that lots of property was bought in Frisco, no one knows from who or why it was bought, some time ago...

And plus the ever so popular DFW airport is just minutes away from Frisco, TX.

I know I'm getting my hopes up. The woman who reported the story said she heard from her "sources" and implied that they are "reliable" and then reported the news. I believe the time was around 3pm when I heard it.

I'm like the rest of you... WHEN I SEE IT I'LL BELIEVE IT!

I was just hoping someone here would be "yep, I heard it too!".

Re: Disney bought a SuperBowl Ad to announce a new Disneyland park!

If there were to be a Disney park in Texas, I would hope it wouldn't follow the Disneyland/Magic Kingdom formula. I would hope for something original, otherwise why build it? Disney's American Adventure or Villians Lair, etc.

You forgot Buena Vista Games - They had a hand in Kingdom Hearts, and are responsible for the some horrible movie based games.

There are no "hill billy friends" in Frisco, Texas. You're commenting on an area you apparently know nothing about.
