Remember the Disney Park that was possibly going to Virginia and fell through?

Here is to hoping this is true. My parents want to move to Texas. I don't think I could live w/out Disneyland.

I seriously believe it's Year of a million dreams and the Cinderella suite.

The battlefield was near the site, not the actual site. There was more than just the location that killed Disney's America. The name and even the theme were attacked. Just as people say "See the real thing" regarding Disney's California Adventure, same was said of Disney's America.

Re: Disney bought a SuperBowl Ad to announce a new Disneyland park!

Growing up in Texas, I am aware that Disney has purchased land in various areas there. For example, at the time that I moved here, Disney had recently purchased the land that the Texas Ren Fest is held on (much to the terror of the ren fest people, who thought it was the end of the ren fest - it wasn't). At one time, they had land outside of Austin as well - so it would not surprise me at all if they had land outside of Dallas.

The only catch I can see for Frisco, is that historically, Six Flags Arlington closes due to weather in the winter... it makes sense that they would choose somewhere a litttle more south if they decide to finally build in Texas.

Re: Disney bought a SuperBowl Ad to announce a new Disneyland park!

It is interesting but every now and then I occasionally still run into people from out of state who think that Disneyland is in Los Angeles and not in Anaheim.

It's kind of funny but one time I was talking to someone from out of state about where I was from and I said, "I am from Newport Beach." They asked, "Where's that?" I told them it's about an hour drive south of Los Angeles and they said, "ok". I told another person that it is in Orange County and they said, "Oh, you're from Los Angeles." Locals here know that there is subtle distinction between the two areas, but you would have to live here in order to understand it.

(The point being that both Anaheim and Newport Beach are in Orange County)

Well put!

I mean the unnesessary lows some people think need to go in regards to being funny or humurous is just lost on me. But that's just me IN MY OWN OPINION.

I know it's all in good fun and I welcome more input on this post.

Wow, looked up the city in your OP, trying to confirm the supposed rumor that you reported and found that crime story from the local news there.

I'm sure someone here would still appreciate your own input on a confirmation one way or the other from this mysterious radio report.

BTW - I love Austin!

Red Face Re: Disney bought a SuperBowl Ad to announce a new Disneyland park!

I'm not the only one who heard this "rumor" on the radio station, people are talking here in Dallas thanks to the radio stations.

http://sg.answers.yahoo.com/question...9160533AAgDtUO

Another poster on another forum, not me, wrote about this same rumor and talked about the new Disneyland opening in Celina, TX, located just above Frisco Tx. Here's the map of the area they are suspected of building a new park on.

And some other poster over at WDWMagic claimed the park will "break ground in 2008" but over around Fort Hood. Something is happening in 2008 other than Toy Story Mania.

And then over at Dis Boards there's talk of something that may be similiar to a new park opening up called http://www.winterplex.com/ and I believe this park is NOT associated with Disney in any way.

This could be the rumored park opening up that has Dallas confused with a Disneyland park opening.

Oh and another person heard the same report on the dallas radio...

http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1342205

I'm not alone here. I ain't crazy. Just hoping for something good.

Here's the area where the radio is reporting that the park may be built.

Re: Disney bought a SuperBowl Ad to announce a new Disneyland park!

I just have a hard time believing a lowly radio station would get the scoop on this before an Al Lutz or Jim Hill or any other number of internet rumor wranglers. If ground breaking is scheduled for 2008, word would have gotten out by now, right? It just seems there are no surprises left, especially not of this magnitude.

And a park in Texas would be direct competition with Disney World and Disneyland. So, while it would be nice, I don’t think it’s going to happen. But here’s to hoping.
