![]() | Ruffian Just finished watching this "made for TV" film. It was brilliant. After today's Belmont win by Rags To Riches, an especially poignant story. Obviously made (or consulted) by people who "know" thoroughbred horse racing, Ruffian is a story of a horse with heart. If you missed it, rent it and watch it. On a personal note: it was happy to see a fleeting "Easter Egg" in one scene which showed Victoria's father's racing silks.

![]() | Re: Ruffian I saw the movie as well and I remember that race only too well. She was a beauty and the first philly that anyone looked seriously at as a contender. undefeated in 10 starts, not many colts can do that and was ahead when she shattered her leg. it was unfortuate that she couldn't be saved just like barbaro, the racing world lost a great horse that day. and it's fitting she is burried at the track. |
