Barrymore to voice a Chihuahua in Disney's 'South of the Border'

Actress Drew Barrymore has been signed on to lend her voice to a Chihuahua in comedy film 'South of the Border', being directed by Raja Gosnell for Walt Disney Pictures.
Other stars to give their voices to the various animal characters in the live-action movie include Andy Garcia, Salma Hayek, George Lopez, Cheech Marin, Paul Rodriguez, Placido Domingo, Edward James Olmos, and Eddie "Piolin" Sotelo.
The film revolves around a pampered Beverly Hills chihuahua named Chloe who is accustomed to riding in a purse. She gets lost while on vacation in Mexico, and relies on her friends to help her get back home.
Garcia will lend his voice to a German shepherd who loses his sense of smell, and is kicked off the police force as a result.
Hayek's character will be of Chloe's spirit guide, who helps her find her true heritage.
The film will also feature a macho romantic Chihuahua who would do anything for the love of Chloe. The character will be voiced by Lopez.
Written by Jeff Bushell and Analisa Labianco, the film is being produced by David Hoberman, Todd Lieberman and John Jacobs.

Sounds like this could be cute. Is this going to be traditional 2D animation or 3D/CGI?

yup, seriously - they are planning to use the latest "mouth movement" technology, some of which you have already seen on commercials and will see in the new Underdog movie (also live action), to make the animals talking look as realistic as possible.
