Disney/Pixar Presenting At ComicCon 2007

The 2007 ComicCon event will include the following Disney/Pixar related presentations:

July 26th
7:15-8:45pm
The Pixar Story: To Infinity and Beyond—A look at Pixar, the amazing studio that revolutionized animation in a new film by Oscar nominated documentary director Leslie Iwerks (Recycled Life). The granddaughter of animation pioneer Ub Iwerks, Leslie continues the family tradition and legacy. Room 6CDEF

July 27th
10:30-11:30am
Pixar Short Films Collection: Volume 1—Join three of Disney•Pixar's most talented filmmakers—Ralph Eggelston (Oscar-winning director of For the Birds), Andrew Jimenez (Oscar-nominated co-director of One Man Band), and Gary Rydstrom (director of Pixar's newest animated Oscar-nominated short, Lifted)—as they discuss the studio's acclaimed short films, with a Q&A session to follow. Room 6CDEF

5:00-6:00pm
Pitching an Animated Show—How do you get your cartoon on the air? Selling an animated series isn’t as easy as it seems. The process is as creative as it is frustrating—and equal parts unpredictable. The major networks get thousands of pitches every year, so is there a secret recipe to getting your idea on the top of the pile? Maybe, and these are the people to tell you: executives responsible for shepherding new shows at the major studios, including Eric Coleman, VP animation, development & production at Nickelodeon; Heather Kenyon, senior director of development original animation for Cartoon Network; Jill Stewart, manager, original series, Disney Channel Animation, as well as creators Jorge R. Gutierrez (Nickelodeon’s El Tigre) and Gabe Swarr (Big Pants Mouse), both industry veterans currently in development on several projects. This will be an hour chock-full of wisdom, woes, and even a few "you-saw-it-here-first" surprises, moderated by animation writer/creator Jon M. Gibson, also in development. Room 30CDE

July 28th
12:00-1:15pm
Cartoon Voices 1—Such a Comic-Con favorite, we’re doing it twice this year! Mark Evanier hosts his yearly panel with some of the greatest voice talent in the cartoon business. Today’s panel includes Neil Ross (GI Joe), Wally Wingert (Invader Zim), Kathy Garver (Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends), Will Ryan (Disney voice artist), and more. Stay tuned for Part II tomorrow at noon in this very same room! Room 6B

2:15-4:00pm
Disney and Disney•Pixar showcase two upcoming films with this exclusive Comic-Con presentation!
The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian—Walt Disney Pictures and Walden Media present never-before-seen footage and a Q&A panel with the filmmakers of the second installment of the epic fantasy adventure series! Be sure to collect the exclusive Prince Caspian Comic-Con poster, designed by fans on Narnia.com, and selected by director Andrew Adamson!
WALL•E—From Academy Award–winning director Andrew Stanton (Finding Nemo), WALL•E is the story of one robot's comic adventures as he chases his dream across the galaxy. Meet director Andrew Stanton and sound designer Ben Burtt (Star Wars) as they present a first look at Disney·Pixar’s next animated adventure! Hall H

6:00-7:00pm
The Pitching Hour —Jermaine Turner (director, original series, Disney/ABC Cable Networks Group), Jill Stewart (manager, original series, Disney Channel Animation), Dan Evans (network exec, Digimon), Jeremy Love (VP, Gettosake Entertainment), Laurenn McCubbin (producer, Showtime's Rent Girl), and Jonas Agin (senior VP, Tom Lynch Company) will take an idea from conception through production. This process will include creating a pitch document, obtaining agents, and getting a pitch meeting. The panelists will explain, through hypothetical example and humorous stories, the process that new creator should adapt to make their way into the Hollywood creative battleground. Knowing that each project is unique, there will be a Q&A to allow the audience to really hone in on the solutions to obstacles they may encounter. Also on hand will be IP lawyer Brendan McFeely to give creators insight on protecting their ideas as they navigate Hollywood! Room 5AB

Then please post when you get back - a 'post event' post is always much more enjoyable to read anyway
