Enchanted?

How was it? Any reviews? I looked but I couldn't find any threads about it. I am way to busy to go see it in the next few days, but I want to hear some reviews and opinions. Oh! and how was the Goofy short?

Re: Enchanted?

I'm too tired to make a link for this, but if you go to the main page and look under the News heading, there is a thread started by Sir Clinksalot that is all reviews.

Oh, and I can tell you that the movie was GREAT!!!!

Re: Enchanted?

Enchanted was incredible. Very funny, very sweet. A fractured fairy tale without being a 120 minute skewering of pop culture like Shrek and other such films. And there was no Goofy short when I saw it.

Re: Enchanted?

I loved the movie, and this is one of those times I wish Robert Iger would close the window between when a movie is released in theaters and DVD, because I would have bought this movie right after getting out of the theater. That's how much I enjoyed it.

I sat forward in my seat with a silly grin on my face the whole time! I am hoping that there will be a Giselle in the park when I visit in February. She is my new Fave!
This movie is a must see!

Re: Enchanted?

I loved the movie, Giselle was absolutely
Princess Perfect and Pip was a great character.
James Madsen did a good job as the prince.
The songs were terrific.

Only a couple of things were sub parr in my
opinion. The opening animation was rather
poorly done, (it wasn't done by Disney). And
the Dragon at the end just didn't look or sound
right. (again, the dragon was outsource by
Disney, too bad they didn't have PIXAR do that
for them.) And Susan Sarandon was only
marginal as a real life villain. She just didn't
seem that evil ~ by comparisson, Glenn Close
did a MUCH better job portraying Cruella DeVil.

I will definitely be buying it, when it's available
on dvd!

Re: Enchanted?

I think a good way to put it is "Better than it has any right to be". It is a wonderful homage to all the classic fairy tales of Disney films bygone. It does parody theme, but not maliciously so like in Shrek. Sure, you'll have the ending figured out within the first 10 minutes, but it does not matter. It's a happy film that makes you feel good. It is Disney get it's foot back in the door with traditional 2D animation. And it the first movie in a long time that I have not fantasized about killing the comedic relief character (the squirrel, who was hysterical).
As a single, early twenties guy; I am completely outside of the target audience, and I liked it. So see it.

Re: Enchanted?

I didn't care for Enchanted. It was cute in some parts, but, overall...I just didn't like it nearly as much as most Disney movies.
