You could start a GIJoe thread. the movie is coming out this summer as well and it might get people jump started on it or remembering it from their childhood. I'd jump in on it. And I'm a girl

    Good morning, son

Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today

I found out back in '05 when trying to complete a set of the Burger King Revenge of the Sith toys that each location is operated differently. Some will let you purchase the item outright, some will require you to buy a value meal and in the case of the toys, some will require you to buy a kid's meal. It's entirely up to the management of the particular BK location that you visit.

For anyone trying to complete a set of the toys, good luck! I completed both series of the Star Wars ones but it took considerable time and energy and I swore never to do it again for fast food premiums. (Had to eat the food for a lot of the toys). In fact, since 2005, you can count on two hands the number of times I've eaten at BK.

By the way, they will also have both Transformers and GI Joe toys later on this summer. Transformers starts on 6/22 while GI Joe starts on 7/27.

Thanks for the heads-up. I'm going to stop there tomorrow. How long is this promo supposed to go on for? I'm going to guess 3 weeks maybe? Last year's promos were very short because there were three in a row BK had.

McDonald's is the same way. I found this out trying to complete the Transformers Animate set last summer. I was lucky enough to have one location let me dig thru the box for the ones I needed.

Uuurrggghh ... I remember 2005. I feel sick just thinking about it. Since I don't eat beef, I don't eat much fast food anyway. During the first run of ROTS toys, you could buy a kids meal and get one toy. That was the only way to get them at the 2 locations I frequented (although, like FantasticDuck, they usually allowed me to dig through the box for what I wanted). Then, the second wave came out and they allowed 2 toys for each adult value meal purchased. That was a way better deal! Also, near the end, they were allowing me to just buy the toys (I think they were trying to get rid of them). I have not stepped foot in BK since that promotion ended.

Try different locations - maybe you won't have to eat all that food to get the whole collection!

    Re: Toy Collecting Chit-Chat thread.

I just went to the BK by my work. This one would NOT let me just purchase the set for $6.99 with a food purchase (I tried to get a kids meal). So I had to buy a value meal and then buy the set. BUT they let me purchase 2 sets for one value meal. So now I have one to use and one to save, sell or whatever. Yuck, I'm not a BK food fan. But it was worth it for the glasses!

The glasses are made of GLASS! They remind me of the Disney 25th glasses from McDonald's in quality (not the plastic BK Disney glasses). There are 4 in a set. Kirk (blue), Nero (green), Uhura (pink) and Spock (Orange). The boxes each have a ship and a planet on them. The glasses have a white background and the same color on that is on the respective box, plus the character on it.

I've taken a pic. Parden the quality of it but I'm at work and took it with my phone. I only took 2 out of the package so the picture has Nero and Kirk.

It's a good thing they're not offering a red shirt or you'll get killed . Where's the shirt offer? Is that at BK too?

I think I'll be picking up a set of glasses. No fast food joint has had collectible glasses for awhile.
