Toy Fair 2009 starts on Sunday the 15ht this year. For those who do not know, Toy Fair is the annual convention in New York where all the toy makers get together. They show off their new products for the rest of the year to the buyers from stores like Toys R Us and WalMart, as well as the press. As a toy collector I pay close attention every year and when I find cool stuff I will post links to it.

Rebelscum has coverage of Hasbro's Star Wars Merchandise. For Expanded Universe fans it looks like we are getting A Yuuzhan Vong warrior and Darth Krayt this year. For prequal fans I see new versions of Captain Typho and Ep1 Obi-Wan. Also figures of Prequal era Owen and Beru. There are also new vehicles like the Turbo Tank. As far as Original Trilogy though they are showing the EpV wave with the Ugnaughts. Oh and it looks like Count Dooku's lightsabre is getting the FX treatment.

All I want is to get Wet-Suite from G.I.Joe sad part is to get him I have to get that 7 pack to get only Wet-Suite. Don't like the movie G.I.Joe figures as for Transformers I thing the only ones I will get are Rampage and Skids. I which they use the reg names for the Constuntcons [ms]. As for the DCUC for wave 9 I want to get Geen Arrow,Black Canary and Mantis. May pick up some of the Wolveine figures like Gamit and the yellow and Blue Wolveine.

Yah, I'm definitely gonna get those mondo Joe packs. I want them all! If I disliked Wet-Suit I'd offer him up, but I don't!

I already have an Eopie from the episode 1 days, (paid $30 for it) so I dunno if I'll mail in for another. I suppose I'd need a 2nd if I wanted to be "film accurate" huh?

46 star wars figures not counting the current A New Hope wave. Dang. is that counting Clone Wars? I sure hope so!

DC Universe seems to be strong this year. Good thing I quit on Marvel. Won't be getting the Marvel Universe figures either. Too big in my opinion. Maybe I'll get a Hulk or something.

Then there's He-Man and Ghostbusters.

I forgot about Ghostbusters. Econ will be my first to get. I have always wanted them when they first came out back in 84 but my mom wouldn't let me get any at that time. Othen then Trap Jaw and maybe Battle Cat I will not get any of the He-Man figures. Not into He-man like I use to be back in the day. As for Star Wars I hope Hasbro makes Wige [ms] the X-Wing pilot. I've been weighting for a figure of him send they did him back in 2000 and came in the Falcon for some dumbo reason.

Wedge has never had a carded release. He has always been part of sets. One of these days we'll get him. It does look like he is going to be released with the X-wing this year.

NECA product is starting to pop up on the web. In the Harry Potter line they are showing a Fenrir Grayback figure. The rest have been shown before. Thye also got the rights to do some cool Terminator 2 Figures. I love the one with the Gatling Gun. Also the Player Select line continues with figures from Street Fighter and Resident Evil. And don't forget figures based on Twilight and TMNT.

The best news out of Toy Fair is that Disney and LEGO are teaming up in 2010 for Cars, Toy Story 3, and Prince of Persia
