Official San Diego Comic Con Collectible thread

Hi Everybody. With San Deigo Comicon this weekend there will be lots of news about new toys and other collectibles. So this is the thread to post those links or other cool news you hear about.

Hasbro is finally remaking Star Wars characters like Wicket, the Gamorrean Guard and Admiral Ackbar. Wedge Antilles is finally getting a single carded figure. YOu can see pictures on Rebelscum.com.

The Jabba and his throne look amazing. Finally new sculpts of Jabba, Oola, and Salacious Crumb.

In non Hasbro Star Wars news, Sideshow is finally showing their 12 inch figures of R2-D2 and C-3PO. Great looking figures. $190 a piece. Ouch.

Thanks for starting this, Melonballer! Since I can't go to Comic-Con, I can at least hear the latest gossip and see all the loot everyone bought! Have a great time!

I saw some photos last night of the DC Universe Classics and I can't wait to get some of them. I'm a little sad though cause of the 5 pack I saw of the Green Lantern series I really only wanted two of them. John Steward and the one that has the fish kind of face. I forgot his name but he was one of my favorite GL's beside Hal. The other 3 I don't want so it looks like I will not get them. The other one I want that I saw was Martian Manhunter the one that has what looks like a changing hands?

I'm thinking of picking up the 19inch Galactus from Hasbro.

$60 and I'm not really a fan of Big G but damnit if that's not an impressive figure!

I'm in line waiting for the con to open. You guys have seen more photos than I have.

They handed me a free Brightest Day bag and the strap broke already and I was only carrying an empty poster tube.

In Marvel news, Hot Toys is showing off a Ghost Rider with cycle that looks sick. I'm curious to see what Hasbro's plans are for the Marvel Universe next year.

For Disney collectors, The Mindstyle booth is selling both Mad Mickey and Tin Toy.

Does anybody even have Mindstyle's Tin Toy yet? I have a few questions:

    1) How much is it? Mindstyle never replied to my e-mails.
    2) Does Tinny come in a box similar/identical to the one in the short?

NECA has had some good stuff too. I really like the Borderlands ClapTrap and Machete Figures. For Twilght fans they have a shirtless version of Sharkboy coming out. I am amazed it too them this long as from the trailers it looks like the men never have shirts on.

The lovely & super-talented Angus MacLane of Pixar has his Cube Dude
Flickr: MacLane's Photostream Star Wars figures at SDCC, some are already on eBay:

Angus MacLane, a huge LEGO fan, is the creative genius behind CubeDudes," says LEGO Brand Relations Manager Julie Stern. "He created the look and the design for these."

The set of five Clone Wars figures, including R2-D2, C-3PO, Yoda, Clone Captain Rex, and Obi-Wan Kenobi, will be offered as a box set to 450 fans per day at the convention. Purchases will be determined by a raffle at the booth.

And fans of the unique CubeDudes look will have more to look forward to at Celebration V, which celebrates 30 years of The Empire Strikes Back. "There will be a second set of CubeDudes available at Star Wars Celebration V," hints Stern. "We'll be offering a sneak peek of those in the coming weeks!"

I won't be there until Saturday
I'm hoping to pick up some cool stuff though. I'm always really bad at finding the good deals and fun collectibles.

Can anyone confirm or deny that Lego is coming out with Pirates of the Caribbean. I saw a picture of a Jack Sparrow minifig and would like to know if it is official or custom?.

From my search for Lego news I found some stuff about Lego Universe that appears to have some pirate looking characters - it could be from that?
