I collect Wendy figurines (and pretty much anything else that has Wendy on it). There are not very many of them so it makes for a not-too-expensive hobby.

I also collect Harmony Kingdom pieces and disney pins. I used to collect Beanie Babies.

    Hi,
I collect Lucifer figurines and Si and Am figurines...although
it's kind of hard seeing as neither of those characters got much
    attention.

Re: Figurines - Big Figs, Classics, Armani, Lenox, Harmony Kingdom, etc.

I have been a a member of the Walt Disney Classic collectors for 3 years now. I have really enjoyed the detail and work that goes into designing these sculpture pieces.
    Here's what you get:
-Walt Disney Collector's Society Pin of that figurine with the WDCC logo.
-The Pre-Selected figurine for the Year (2006 was "The Little Mermaid" with "Scuttle" as the add on)
    - Sketches Magazine- is exclusive to WDCC members on current releases and future release dates on upcoming figurines.
    - Special events with a selected figurine at a lower cost, This year was Mary Poppins. (Very detailed right down to her bag and Umbrella) Last year was Lady and the Tramp for the anniversary.

Also Disneyland and Walt Disney World have exclusive pieces as well, coming like the recent release of the Captain of the Wicked Winch in the POTC ride. The Pig scene from POTC is going to be released in Florida only. But can be easily ordered from the WDW. Here is a link to http://psc.disney.go.com/eventservic...culptures.html

These figurines are already BIG Figs. (Which I think personally are just is good for these particular choices)The smaller ones will save space obviously.

The more detailed the more expensive, meaning little individual flowers, toys shoes, buckles, maybe horse reins on the figures drive the price higher and number of editions. Details, it's all about the details.

Sometimes the pieces aren't what you may want to collect, but they are nicely done, and easily be traded or sold. This collection can be like pins, find the movie or series you like the most and collect those as you go. I go through a site that absorbs the sales tax and over a certain dollar amount the shipping is free.

The limited editions are obviously more valuable, but what makes all of them a tad more valuable, is their each individual box that they arrive in is taken care of with little or no damage.
    Did I forget to mention:
The boxes make the figurine(s) value stay intact when they aren't damaged or bent or come from a home with smoke.

Some have specific instructions on how to remove them when first opening the box, also how to handle them when in thin areas of material on the figurine.

For example the Aristocat's "Plucking the Heartstrings" figurine have harp strings that are loose and look like they are broken (which they are supposed to be like this in the movie) when Duchess is playing it.

The boxes make the figurine(s) value stay intact when they aren't damaged or bent or come from a home with smoke.

    Proper care:
Never use anything abrasive to clean them, even "Swiffers" aren't so good. Use a damp wet cloth.
If you can manage to find and afford one, buy a protective case or curio.
Always follow the instructions on how to handle them if it comes with (or calls for) with the figurine.
1st Amendment-Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

I like the Harmony Kingdom boxes. I am not sure where to get them though as all of mine were gifts. They used to have a small display at the World of Disney store at DLR but no more, at least what I could see.

Something I could really get into collecting are the Armani sculptures. They are quite spiffy.

I love the Jim Shore collectibles. My hubby has been getting them for me for every occasion! My favorite is the Evil Queen - the back side is the old hag.

Will trade husband for Disneyland and DCA Pins!

    Hi, everyone!

I am collecting the action figures from the Walt Disney Magical Collection, but only the ones from the Movie Classics. I have also collected bigger figurines from characters from the Disney comics. They are from Italy.

I have a few of the BIG figs: Mickey in front of the American flag; The auctioneer pirate from POC; Goofy sitting down, Christmas Mickey and Minnie; Capt. Hook. My pride is the bronze Partners statue.
