There are only three or four released in the last couple month, that I want.

And I was looking forward to Tumbleweed McQueen, BUT, WHAT the heck did they do to it?!?!? It looks more like"Broccoli McQueen"! BLECH!!!!

    Haha broccoli mcqueen.

So i got a set today that i was absolutely not expecting to get! FRANK THE COMBINE! it's in a thin box called "TRACTOR TIPPIN' TRACK SET" and comes with a really freaked out Lightning McQueen and a piece of track about 2 feet long. It was $14.99 at Target and I'll have photos probably next week.

    Re: Mattel's Cars - discussion

I finally found oversized Mack, Dinoco Helicopter and Marco at Target this morning. $6 for these isn't all that bad when you consider that I collect most of the Star Wars titanium diecasts and those are now over $6 and much smaller than the oversized Cars.

It looks like TRU is having another mail away promo for a Gask-its racer.

    Re: Mattel's Cars - discussion

I'll have to keep an eye out at TRU once again. They're making me do all my car shopping there basically! Good thing I've kept all my old cardbacks!

So as mentioned, here's the Frank track set that I got at Target for $15

Soooo disappointed. Yes, it's to scale. BUT it's all plastic. Even the lightning mcqueen car is 100% plastic and covered with stickers instead of paint!

Too bad it's one of my favorite Lightning Mcqueen sculpts. I guess they'll use that one again in the future.

    Re: Mattel's Cars - discussion

Saw a few things at Target if anyone is interested in knowing. They had the Haulers. There are three so far but I only saw two.

Team HTB comes with Chick Hicks, Hauler, and pitty (three guys).

Team Dinoco comes with The King, Hauler, and pitty (three).

The third one on the back is Mack.

I didn't buy any of these because I can't begin to tell you just how many chick hicks and king and lightning mcqueens i have. So sick of this.

the last thing of interest I saw was a boxed three pack. It had, wait for it,... Chick Hicks, The King, and TONGUE WINNER Lightning McQueen. This one had his tongue sticking straight out. I didn't check to see if his tires were missing because that would be cool.

Again, I didn't pick it up... because I'm so tired of getting Chick and King!

I'm gonna call one of the CARS designers on monday and see if I can get an answer about this.

    Re: Mattel's Cars - discussion

The hauler + car + pitty sets are exclusive to Target but you can also buy just the haulers everywhere else (including Target as I saw tags for them).
I want the Dinoco one but that's about it as I'm losing a lot of interest in the line and personal finances necessitate me dropping a toy line or two that I collect currently.

I got the following info from Mattel off of carsthetoys.com

We are adding a die cast/decorated chassis, real rubber tires with tread pattern, extra detailed deco, paint, and VUM where it makes sense. We are planning to call these 1:55th Characters " The John Lasseter Signature Series". They will be packed out in a jewel case with JL (John Lasseter) signature silk screened behind the Character. They will be two sizes of display cases in order to accommodate our Mega Sized Characters. The regular sized offerings will sell for $20, they will be stackable as well with a clear floor so one can see the highly detailed painted under chassis.

However, higher end cars might make drop the regular line only to get the premium one.

Any idea which cars they'll be doing these on? All of them?

That's all that was said about them so your guess is as good as mine. If I had to hazard a guess, probably just core characters.

I found a HTB Hauler (chick hick's hauler) at TRU today. It was $13.99. I forgot to check how much the Target exclusive ones were.

I saw them a week or so ago at Target, all 3 of the haulers. I believe they were the same price there. I didn't buy them, though, cuz I didn't wanna spend that much at the time. I found tumbleweed McQueen there though, and I bought him haha.

BTW, does anyone know if the offer of the metallic blue McQueen is being offered with the Cars Blu-Ray disc? My family just got a Blu-Ray player, and we may get the movie.
