Haha Aristocat, welcome to the dark side!

Did you get into these completely unrelated to this thread starting the same week? Or did we somehow have a part of it.

Duckman has the original price at $99 (http://www.wdccduckman.com/spgspotlightcollection.htm). I got mine for $26 shipped on ebay. The seller had it listed as a "Donald resin figure". I got the Admiral Donald the same way.

I've also gone to a live auction that had a bunch of WDCCs from an estate sale. None of the pieces (and there were almost 200) went for over $150!!! I got my Scrooge ornament for $10!!

Also sometimes you can get good prices on ebay if the seller does not have the COA certificate or original box. I buy some this was since its more of a passion to collect a piece I want than a resale value thing

Thanks for the tips you guys!

I just literally won two auctions back to back. Susie the Blue Coupe for $35 and Mufasa & Simba for $55.

I don't know what they are made of actually. That's just what the seller had it listed as.

I comb through ebay pages and do searches on things spelled wrong and such to see what all is out there. A lot of people don't know what they have I guess. I can't always afford to pay the retail value so when I find a good deal I jump on it!

It was a bizarre coincidence! I suppose great (or twisted) minds think alike!

I just got the complete Aristocat set on Ebay. Yep, even the couch. *sigh* There's just no fighting it, eh?

WDCC are mostly porcelain. Some of the finer pieces with intricate details have resin features and are a composite mixture of media. At the POTC event last year in WDW, there was a WDCC seminar/event when they unveiled a couple POTC pieces. Someone asked about this and they explained that they had to use resin features on some pieces because the features were so delicate they would not be possible in porcelain. He gave as an example the Skeleton Helmsman.

Most basic figures are all porcelain, which explains why they are so expensive. No way they could charge that much for resin stuff! But it also explains why they are so beautiful, with hardly any flaws.

Thanks! I thought that was the case and that some pieces - like the ELP that Jeff has - were resinish due the their features and whatnot. I too thought it was a lot for non porcelain type figures! lol

I keep going back and staring at the Jack Jack LOL.

Re: The WDCC Walt Disney Classics Collection Thread

I don't think I'm ever gonna buy one of these at original retail value. It's just too dang much. My mom told me she found Jack Jack for $25 and just had to get it. If I didn't want it, she would be happy to keep it.

I got Mr. Incredible for $75. What's interesting is that I don't see any ebay auctions for this one or the rest of the Incredibles! Why is that?
