The WDCC Walt Disney Classics Collection Thread

Anyone collect the Walt Disney Classics Collection? I've long admired these magnificent variety of sculptures at Disneyland and many other collectible stores, never having the money to start the collection.

Well today my mom surprised me with a little gift. It's my very first WDCC collectible and I'm afraid the bug has started and now I want to get Mr. Incredible!

    say hi to Jack Jack!

Feel free to post your WDCC story or photos of your collection, etc!

I really like WDCC. I began seriously collecting the NBX stuff years ago when they first came out... I think I have most of them except for some recent releases (the new Corpse Child is great!) I have a few other miscellaneous pieces (I found Benny the Cab from WFRR at the Character Warehouse a couple months ago). I also gave my brother the Mulan riding a horse piece for Xmas, which he loved. The one I most recently have been looking at is the POTC Skeleton Helmsman/Steering wheel piece. Awesome!

Oh, yeah and almost all the Pixar stuff is great. I've been eyeing the Incredibles collection too!

It's just painful however not being able to get an AP discount on anything!

I seriously want someone to make Walt's signature into a font. I love it. (Sorry I have just long admired the signage for the WDCC.)

I have just a few. The Main Street Electrical Parade pieces, minus the musical banner and Cinderella Coach, which I thought was too weird for the scale, and then I also have the Dreamfinder and Figment piece that came out a few years ago. Every once in a while I search ebay for the flamingo from Fantasia 2000 and for the Brer Rabbit piece, but have not taken the plunge yet.

Luckily I haven't really gone crazy with them; there are just so many tempting ones out there.

Ludwig von Drake and Uncle Scrooge are the 2 current ones that are so tempting.

Yes, read the fine print on AP discounts (including the 20% renewal coupons). For some reason discounts are never allowed on Classics stuff.

You can sometimes get good deals on eBay or at the Disney Character Warehouse.

I dropped by the warehouse. They only have two dwarfs, two small world ones, and Flik & Atta. I'm tempted to get Flik & Atta for $80.

Question about the society. Anyone in that? Is it worth it?

Another question. Neverneverland posted some that she's looking for. Anyone else on the hunt for something? I'll always keep my eye open for ones you guys are looking for.

I've been a member since the 1st year. Membership gets you the
annual membership piece, and then there are certain pieces released
each year that are only available to members. Most of the annual
membership pieces are nice, especially the Little Mermaid piece they
had a couple years ago. Membership doesn't give you a break on the
    prices either.

I've kept my collection to a minimum, but still have quite a few, since
this is the 15th year. I do have some of the MSEP, Bambi, Aladdin,
    Lion King pieces.

    You mean yoyo?

    And for anyone interested...http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/m...&category=3474

I've never dealt with this store for WDCC, but I buy other things from them. The Von Drake for $113 is almost too tempting to resist. But, can't justify it if I have a wedding to pay for.

I just don't have room for them! I love them, but they were always too expensive. So, when I found the Jim Shore collectibles, I started after those!

Will trade husband for Disneyland and DCA Pins!

I'm a collector, but since I had kids the cash flow isn't what it used to be. My favorite piece I own is the first Cinderella piece, where she's holding the wash bubbles in her hand. The glue has dried a little though, and the bubble keeps falling out of her hand.

Re: The WDCC Walt Disney Classics Collection Thread

    I have been a member since 2005.

"Scheming Suiter" from Beauty and the Beast is my personal favorite.
The last event that I made it too they had Mary Poppins with her Parrot Umbrella. Really a well done piece.
Also at the 40th Pirate's event we picked up the Captain of the Wicked Wench called "Fire at Will" The artist Dusty Horner signed it. I have soo many I'm not sure I want too post them.

YoYo -that site has some of the best deals I have too say.

I usually shop this site, http://www.world-wide-art.com/

They can get retired pieces very easily. The owner used to run one of the Disney Stores back when they were little more upper class.
1st Amendment-Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
