Re: Disney Cruise Honeymoon, Need help!

You'll be there on my anniversary!

At Castaway Cay, they've got a nature tour water ski excursion. That was A LOT of fun! They take you around the island and tell out about it. We even had a good sized shark come right past us one of the time we were parked ou in the water (the average depth is something like 4 feet...which makes now me wonder how the boat docks there!). Be sure to get a Konk Kooler on the island. They're phenomenal and you'll find yourself missing it once you get back to the mainland.

I'm thinking that you are doing the Western Caribbean cruise. If so then these are your excursion options:

When the ships call at port there is a variety of excursions available for you to fill your time.

This is a list from the Western Caribbean cruise (7 days):

There's usually a night or two that guests are encouraged to dress more formally.

Gala night. Formal if you wish but lounge suit acceptable. Ladies go glam!
There is also a pirate night led by Caprtain Hook and Mr Smee so you may want to pack an eye patch or two.

Re: Disney Cruise Honeymoon, Need help!

Book the night before, no question, if you miss the boat because the flight is delayed you have to meet them at the first port and then you've missed part of the cruise. Don't book the flight with the cruise though...it is much cheaper to do it on your own. Stay at the Hyatt Hotel in the Orlando Airport. In the morning they will have a spot for all the Disney Cruise people to gather and they'll transport you there.

I've been on 7 cruises so I know. I hope that was helpful =)

Re: Disney Cruise Honeymoon, Need help!

I haven't been on A Disney cruise however I have been on cruise ships on both the pacific and Atlantic and I definately suggest that you should chose the most comfortable and relaxing way possible to get there and back be cause the boarding and unboarding of the ship is the most tiring thing of the whole trip. Just wanting to put that out there....

Have Fun!

Re: Disney Cruise Honeymoon, Need help!

I just book some of my escursion, what do you think about what i choose so far. Good or bad?

What I've reserved:
St. Maarten: Mountain Top Downhill Forest Trek
St. Thomas/St. John: Water Island Mountain Bike Adventure
Castaway Cay: Castaway Cay Getaway Package (Snorkel, Inner Tube, Bike Rentals)
Palo Dinner Reservation - 3rd day at sea
Couples Massage - worth it for Castaway Cay or on board the ship?

Thanks for your input.

Re: Disney Cruise Honeymoon, Need help!

I would do the massage on the ship, during a sea-day. Not sure if it's worth it or not; we didn't do one. But I wouldn't spend shore-time on it. You have more time during a sea-day.

For Castaway Cay we brought our own snorkels/fins/masks rather than renting them.

Palo - we went to Palo for brunch, instead of dinner, and that was fantastic. I'm not sure if dinner costs more or not, but I didn't want to miss the regular dinner! Lunch was fine to miss, though.

Have fun!

On St. Maarten, if at all possible, pay a visit to Maho Beach, on the edge of Princess Juliana Intl Airport, and watch the airplanes roll in. It's easy to catch a cab from the pier. Hire one for an hour and tell them you just want to go to Maho Beach and you want him to wait half an hour for you. Planes land all day, but by about 1 p.m., the jumbo jets start rolling in.

Oh, and without a doubt, fly in the night before. If your flight gets screwed up, or your luggage gets screwed up, you need that cushion. I've cruised with people who had their trip ruined because they didn't give themselves that cushion.
