full article at:"Toy Story: The Musical" will make its debut aboard the Disney Wonder cruise ship when the ship docks April 10 at Port Canaveral, Fla.
Walt Disney Imagineering Creative Entertainment, the unit that creates shows for Disney theme parks, has assembled the tuner for the cruise line. The show, which will run between 45 minutes and an hour, is intended strictly for the boat and is not a Broadway tryout.
Valerie Vigoda and Brendan Milburn of the New York-based band GrooveLily have written seven songs for the score in addition to Randy Newman's "You've Got a Friend in Me." Book for "Toy Story" is by Mindi Dickstein ("Little Woemn"); Stefan Novinski directs.
The work is the second nonmusical Disney-Pixar film to be adapted for the musical stage. First was "Finding Nemo: The Musical," which plays at Disney's Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World Resort.
