Earkid’s Excellent Panama Canal Cruise Adventure May 10-25, 2008

What a dream vacation! When we saw the dates of this specialty cruise we knew we would have to be there since it would allow us to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary in a grand fashion. I would also be celebrating my 45th birthday. I was so glad that Princess Buttercup and Westley decided to go as well. It was fun being with our table of 14 every night and running into them scattered around the ship every day. For many of us it was our first Disney Cruise but we did have a few seasoned veterans to show us the way.
Now, after culling through 1700+ pictures I am slowly getting a trip report together. I won’t post it all here, just a few highlights. To see many more pics and commentary please go to my Smugmug page: http://earkid.smugmug.com
The pictures don’t even begin to document all the fun we had. For example, we have very few pics of the evening shows since we typically sat toward the back and pictures just didn’t turn out clear. But I hope you enjoy some of the memories of our dream vacation.

Our chariot awaits:

A good view of the backside of the beautiful terminal from our veranda window.

I instantly noticed the small Disney details.

Shayne and Anne wish you Bon Voyage

We enjoyed the sailaway party

Our first towel animal

You may attack smugmug at will. I really suck at trip reports so I'll let the pictures and short captions speak for themselves.

There's over 200 pictures just of Panama Canal Day.

Castaway Cay is gorgeous!

Love the Flying Dutchman turrets

Fun photo ops

Time to snorkel

Shayne and Katrina

A handy way to get from the beach to the ship if you’ve celebrated a bit too much.

Loving it so far! Keep it going!

I laughed when I saw you touching the Minnie underwater because right after I touched something underwater I got told there was no touching allowed!

Yay, I get to re-live our trip again! I love all the details of the ship that you got pictures of (you even got a picture of my beloved Cove Cafe ! The underwater pictures you took are amazing, especially of the helmet dive...that looked like so much fun and so much more than how you described it.

Thank you so much for posting your pictures, I was just feeling a little homesick for our home away from home. If ever you're in need of a viewing audience for all 1700+ pictures, you know you'll have a captive audience here .
