Re: How many books do you typically read per year?

Now that I take the train, I read about 4 a week. So that's probably 70 or so since May. Of course, when you're reading series, it's easy to up that number Reading is about the best thing about my commute!

I get into these moods where for weeks I don't read anything and then I'll read four books in a week...

Re: How many books do you typically read per year?

I figure I read on average about 4-5 books a month, with occasional months getting up to 6 or even 7. I used to average about 9 or 10 a month BK (before kids) but that isn't gonna happen. Favorite author was always Stephen King, but I have a couple of his sitting on the stack of to-be-reads, and I keep bypassing them for mysteries. Currently reading Robert Crais' latest Elvis Cole book, called CHASING DARKNESS. I've also been reading a lot of Lee Child lately...

I added up the years before, an average of about 123 books a year.

Re: How many books do you typically read per year?

I can't say I know exactly how many books I read in a year, but I am always reading something. I probably average 2 books a week, depending on my school schedule. I read a lot of cozy mystery series' and I actually have an excel sheet where I list the authors I read, all of the series that they write, which books I have read, which ones I still have to go and when the new one comes out. I also provide a list of upcoming releases that I want to read to my local library and usually (not always) they will buy the book and put a hold on it for me. It may seem a little obsessive... but I hate reading the back of a book and going... have I read this?

If you are a big reader and like to loan books rather than buy them, I would suggest asking your library if they have their system online. Our Clan system is actually online and allows patrons to go online, look up and request books from any location that is in the system, then they are shipped directly to your library, you get a call letting you know when they are in and you pick it up...it is fabulous! I love going through my list, deciding what I want to read next and going online to request it.

I like this idea! I might try that after I buy Microsoft Office with my student discount

I estimate a book a week- so over 50. But I have a long commute- so there is plenty of time to read

Umm probably close to 200. I read 3-4 a week during school and during my breaks, 6-8. I read just over a 100 books this summer. I really really like to read.

I've read about 80 so far this year, at least according to the 'what are you reading' thread.

Re: How many books do you typically read per year?

Lately I haven't read at all. Now I feel guilty. I usually read traveling books, books about music, musicians, or non-fiction adventures. Etc.

I'll re-read them also, sometimes three times.

What is that website where you can track the books you have read and add poeple's lists too?

Re: How many books do you typically read per year?

I am 5-10 a year now. I dont usually get large chunks of time to read so it takes me awhile to get through, but there is always a book in process. I feel weird if I am not in the middle of reading something.

Re: How many books do you typically read per year?

This year has been a big reading year for me. I'm at 30 books right now so I voted 30-50. Usually, I'm more in the 20-25 range though. I also have 3 magazines I read monthly.
