    Re: Comic Books

Secret Origins was a great story. That was a good read. Rage of the Red Lanterns was also good, I need to get those trades still and then replace the monthly issues I have. I am trying to keep it all as trades, it looks nicer on the bookshelf that way, but I am weak and must read them each month, so usually I keep the monthly issues until I know a friend wants to read that series and I then give it to them.

Rocketeer Fan, you're the only person I've ever heard that liked Kyle the best out of the Earth GL's. Now if only I could find someone that likes John Stewart the best.

I definitely am looking forward to the Green Lantern animated film. Wonder Woman was a lot better than I thought even though I thought Keri Russell wasn't the greatest choice for her voice. I love the Justice League Unlimited animated series immensely and so it's those voices that I "hear" in my head whenever I read comics.

    Re: Comic Books

I think I really like Kyle because when I started to read GL, while I knew of Hal Jordan I was knew to the series, so as Kyle learned, I was learning too. Also, he was in theory a few years older than me when I started to read it, so it was like an older brother of sorts, if that even makes sense and doesn't sound lame. LOL

I really loved when Hal told Sinestro he would respect Kyle in the Rebirth story line. That was so cool seeing them fight together against Sinestro.

Did you get issue #40 yet? I picked it up yesterday. I really can't wait for the Free Comic Book Day issue and see how they tie it in to Blackest Night.

I hope someone else read Legion of 3 Worlds yesterday. A major event happens in it and Starman's mission is finally explained. One of my favorite DC characters returns.

Do any of you shop online at Things From Another World? They're having a big sale starting tomorrow.

I buy books from them at Emerald City Comicon. They always have a ton of 50% off trades and hardcovers.

I used to read Ghost Rider when I was young. I've still got a ton of Ghost Rider comic books sitting around in their plastic sleeves that I haven't touched in more than a decade.

I did, but to be honest, it wasn't with the usual enthusiasm I used to go with on FCBD. I've cut back a lot on the number of books I usually read because of the economy. Picked up Green Lantern (even tho' I'm waiting for Blackest Night to be collected), Avengers, Wolverine, the DC Sampler and Cars. But I discovered my comic shop sold dividers to put inside comic boxes, so I picked up 20 of those to start using. So it was a fairly productive visit.

I did, it was packed. We had Derek Fridolf and a webcomic artist, (poor guy I can't remember his name)

Fridolf does covers for Batman, very cartoonish but he drew everyone a sharpie drawing of what they wanted.

I got the Mad Hatter. I'm still squeeing.

I picked up GL, then bought 30 Days of Night.

    Re: Comic Books

Nice score on the Hatter sketch!

I got the Blackest Night Green Lantern issue as well, great comic, really looking forward to the big summer event. I also got the Cars one (was sad to see no Scrooge comic this year), Wolverine, DC Mega Sampler for Kids, Aliens/Predator/ Star Wars clone wars, and one or two other.

But yeah, I agree, the event, at least in the shop I go to, was pretty calm. I've been trying to cut back to just the essential comics due to funds. This is what I've come up with:

    Fables
    Jack of Fables
    The Muppet Show
    Incredibles
    Invincible
    Green Lantern

For Blackest Night I am just going to read the GL book, not the Corps or tie ins, just can't afford the extra few books a month.

Every so often I check out the 50 cent bins at my local shop, see what treasures I can find there. Otherwise, that is it. Get some trades for Christmas or birthday.
