What Plays have you been in?
I enjoy doing community theatre whenever I have the chance. I never get huge parts, but it is still fun. I also enjoy seeing what plays and parts others have. So what plays / musicals have you been in and who did you play? Here is my list:
High School
The King and I (wife)
The Wizard of Oz (servant in Oz)
Guys and Dolls (General Cartwright)
College
A bunch of strange stuff that no one has heard of. LOL!
Summer Theatre
Annie (Miss Hannigan)
Alton Little Theatre (the main community theatre I now am involved with)
Kiss me Kate (chorus)
Annie Get your Gun (Townsperson)
Fiddler on the Roof (Rifka)
Guys and Dolls (Agatha)
To Kill a Mockingbird (the court reporter)
Annie (Mrs. Pugh)
Re: What Plays have you been in?
I discovered acting after college, and it's been a great, fulfiling hobby. I've made many friends in theatre over the years, and it also forces me from working late at work cuz I gotta make it to rehearsals! Earlier this year, I enjoyed playing Barnaby in "Hello, Dolly!" and a singing, dancing ballplayer in "Damn Yankees" over the summer, a show so thoroughly choreographed, I lost ten pounds (I needed to anyway :p). Other favorite shows I've done include "The Nerd" (Axel), "The Pirates of Penzance" (pirate in Act I, constable in Act 2), "A Midsummer Night's Dream" (Nick Bottom), and "What the Butler Saw" (Dr. Prentice).
Re: What Plays have you been in?
The only non-singing role I played was The Winslow Boy in high school.
Musical theater and Opera:
South Pacific (twice)
Kiss Me Kate (Hortensio, I think)
Man of la Mancha (the priest)
HMS Pinafore
Sing Out Sweet Land
La Traviata
Madame Butterfly
The Barber of Seville
Most of the productions were high school and college, the rest were local. That's all I can remember at the moment. I've done a lot of singing engagements over the years, both as a soloist and in ensembles, but the thread is about plays.
