What do Savage Garden, Razorlight and Maroon 5 have in common? Not much, none of them are the worst band in the world.
Instead, that distinction belongs to Nickelback
, according to readers of the U.K.'s Word Magazine
In a recent poll, nearly 20 per cent of Word Magazine
's voters elected the pride (or shame) of the prairies as the worst band in the world. Only Lighthouse Family, a long-forgotten British ****-pop duo, came close, garnering 14 per cent of the vote.
Oddly enough, Word
directed most of their ire towards local, and for many North Americans, obscure acts. Among the sacrificial offerings were Toploader, M People, Beautiful South and The Troggs. And quite curiously, screamo-crunk trainwreck Brokencyde were nowhere to be found.
Chad Kroeger's gotta be scratching his head right now.
Meanwhile, Nickelback proteges Theory Of A Deadman can let out a sigh of relief. If WWE The Music: Vol. 8
didn't sink them, nothing ever will.
