I don't go very often, but the 2 most recent were "Wicked" at Pantages and "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" in Tempe.
More of a concert, I just saw The Art Laboe Show at the Orpheum Theatre in LA. I had a great time! I love all the oldies and old-school music performed there. I got a chance to see one of my favorite bands, Zapp. I had an amazing time and I thought it was worth every penny. They're having another show in Vegas tonight if anyone's in the mood & area lol.![]()
I recently saw Next To Normal. An amazing drama. It is now my #4 all time show.
And I know I am committing theatrical blasphemy, but I can not stand Andrew Lloyd Webber! I've seen phantom, Jesus Christ Superstar and the nail in the coffin, Cats. They are far to weird and especially dated. I feel that since I did not see them twenty odd years ago when they were popular that I missed out on the nostalgia. Sorry...

I don't blame you for not liking those shows -- I don't either. However, I still consider myself to be somewhat of an ALW fan. There are a lot of his shows and styles to choose from. I personally really love Aspects of Love, Sunset Boulevard, and Starlight Express. That doesn't mean those are for everybody, either... but other good ones I like include Tell Me On A Sunday (song cycle), Evita, and Joseph.
But if we're going to be blasphemous, should I declare my disinterest in Cole Porter and most Sondheim (I do like Company). Then again, maybe I just haven't had the right experience yet...![]()
I just saw Mary Poppins on Broadway. I live in the St. Louis area, so seeing a musical on Broadway was amazing. And Mary Poppins had such awesome sets!

The world premiere of Aladdin at 5th Avenue Theatre in Seattle.
I really enjoyed this one though the 2nd act could use some tweaking. Loved the new song "High Adventure" sung by Aladdin's friends. The new ballad "A Million Miles" between Aladdin and Jasmine was a big too pop-tinged for my tastes. Perhaps it could be corrected by a new arrangement. The show is in good shape based on the audience reception and hopefully it transfers to b'way in the near future.
