^ Wow, we have very similar tastes in music. Glad to see another Porcupine Tree fan on the boards. Have you heard Steven's new solo album yet? I'm still waiting for it to grow on me, it's very different.
My "all time" favorites in no particular order (after number 1):
Rush (been my favorite band since about 1989/1990
Nine Inch Nails
Some "newer" bands that I really dig:
The Mars Volta
Florence and the Machine
TV on the Radio
Mumford and Sons
Genesis (preferably before Phil shaved the beard),
Speaking of Genesis:
I've been doing a new thing on my run's this year where I basically go through an aritsts/bands complete history in order on my runs. So far this year I've done Rush, Porcupine Tree, Tool and a few others.
I just finished Genesis and I have to say, the last two albums with Phil actually are growing on me. I personally think their worst "Phil" album is "Genesis".
That particular album they were kind of stuck between the old "Proggy" Genesis and the new "Hits" Genesis. But there was nothing good on either side.
The last two albums though, they have some great hits on it, but there are also some good proggy stuff on them thrown in for good measure.
Me growing up with two sisters and country music, it kind of wore off on me... To this day still, Shania Twain is my favorite. I know, weird taste for a teenage boy, but anyways... I am hoping to see her in Vegas next year! Other country stars I am huge fans of: Kenny Chesney (seen once in concert) Lady Antebellum(Seen twice in concert) Taylor Swift(Seen once in concert) Reba McEntire, Tim McGraw(Seen once in concert),and Carrie Underwood... There are plenty more, but now I shall sleep! Other bands I like are LMFAO, Maroon 5, and Def Leopard
I have a bunch of choices when it comes to singers and bands. But Snow Patrol, Coldplay and Fightstar are my top favorite bands ever! Taylor Swift, Jason Mraz and Rihanna are my favorite singers of all time.
