Well, depending on what you've looked at, I suggest stopping at the Table of Contents and the Epilogue excerpts (or if you found it, the FULL epilogue).

If you get your hands on the book, you're not going to WANT to stop. Once again, though, I implore anyone who even wants to look at the spoilers to be wary because a lot of them are flat out lies, especially in light of the parts that have been leaked. One website, in particular, which runs down the plot, has actually said that certain characters died, only to be contradicted by the epilogue THAT WAS POSTED on the SAME page.

Oh my gosh, someone I know in Georgia preordered, and it was delivered to her house today. I don't know (yet) who she ordered from, but if this is for real, somebody is going to be in serious trouble for breaching the release date...

Darn, nothing. I can see that happening though. I preordered my Pirates 2 dvd and got it a day early...

I'm keeping a very watchful eye on everything Harry Potter related. I do not want anything to be spoiled!

Usually, I take 2 days to read the books when they come out. I could finish them in a day, I just like to savor it and really undersand what I'm reading. I'm not doing that this time! I want to finish it within the first day to prevent seeing spoilers.

If you ask me, with all the money they spent in security, they were just ASKING for it to happen. About the only thing that can come from stores releasing the book early are some fines, MAYBE. Lots of libraries have boxes of the books already and have been able to open them for cataloguing purposes. Naturally someone took pictures or grabbed one. Frankly, if there was an open box of Deathly Hallows in front of me, I'd leave the money and take one.

Why, pray tell? It is very clearly marked as spoilers. If people don't want to read them, it requires no more self control than one needs to stop from going out and downloading the book on the internet.

Still though, you would only be buying yourself a couple of days. I think it's better to have a CLEAR, out in the open thread about spoilers rather than having that new member unwittingly posting spoilers in an unmarked thread or even worse, in the title. With a CLEAR spoiler thread, we will be able to delineate between an honest mistake and people intentionally and maliciously trying to ruin the book for others.
