Re: Countdown to all things Harry Potter

Okay, I thought I was excited about July. Now I'm even more excited after the Harry Potter Day @ DL this past weekend. I've already bought my book from Amazon. The Deluxe one. The cover is just more awesome and it will be able to last a lot longer than my other HP books. I bought a DA shirt from CafePress.com and afew buttons. I still need to get tickets for the Imax showing of OotP. And, of course, buy the soundtrack the moment it's out.

We're about 1/3 of the way through book 6. We fell behind during Faire, and we're doing our best to get through on time. I told my son that if we weren't done with HBP, I'd move ahead and read DH without him!

    Susie, tha'ts an awesome robe!!

for the book, I gave in and took the 21st off work. I'm still debating preordering it - Are there any good deals w/freebies left? I will most likely do the midnight thing at Borders. But no costumes. i don't even have a HP t-shirt anymore.

Next week I organize the troops for a midnight showing of Book 5. Then i'll see it again that weekend in IMAX. And hopefully it'll be good enough to see a few more times. as of right now I'm on a blackout of anything movie related!
    Good morning, son
    In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
    It was pain
    Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...

I am re-reading 5 and 6, listening to the podcasts, and waiting anxiously. I already have a Ravenclaw robe, but I doubt I will want to wear it in July. You never can tell though....
Where did you get your Ravenclaw robe? I've been looking for stores that sell more than Gryffindor and Slytherin robes.

EDIT: oops, just saw your post saying your mom made it.

Although if anyone knows of a store that sells Ravenclaw robes......

I'm re-reading HBP and re-watching all of the movies to get ready. I also took the three weekdays after the release of Deathly Hollows off from work (yes, my co-workers laughed at me). I'm also looking for a nice robe that won't break my budget, and I'm thinking of getting a wand from Allivans.

I just don't buy enough books to justify a book club card.
Costco will have book for $18.99.
That gift card is yours when you sign up for the BN MasterCard. www.bn.com for more info.

I haven't read it Susie, but a co-worker has. She said I could borrow it, but I don't think I will read it. I have my own ideas about what will happen. It's only a month away, so I can wait for the book.

Nonsense! You should go! There will be so many people there that noone will know you are alone. Just strike up some conversations with the people around you. It will be a great party that you will not want to miss!

I was hoping she would do something like that. I will buy it!

I never read spoilers for HP. It could be a fake. I'll just try and read the book as fast as I can before the spoilers start.

I am rereading HBP. I have only read a few chapters and I have already come across stuff I had forgotten!
I am both highly anticipating and dreading the last book at the same time! I am really worried about who is going to die.

Yes, I am a 39 year old mother of two. What a geek!

It's okay. My dad is going with me to the Border's party because he's super excited. He's 55.

Anyone out here around Long Beach that's going to a party? I'm just curious if they know of any BIG parties going on around here.

Re: Countdown to all things Harry Potter

My husband and I are so excited about the movie and the book and am trying to get our kids excited as well. The other day we watched the first movie and tonight we will watch #2. We have until July 11th to watch #3 and #5. Then, as soon as I see #5, I will try to read the sixth book before the last one comes out. I hope I can achieve my goal!

I have started my first attempt at radish earrings. It's not as easy as I thought.
