I'm not sure how a 28 year old guy will look out there alone at a Harry Potter book release party............

I hear you!!! I keep begging my hubby to finally read The Half Blood Prince (he's read all the others... I begged him of course), but he just won't!

No one around me will. What rotten radishes! :/

To live would be an awfully big adventure.

    Sucks huh?
My wife doesn't read, much, my daughters are too small, my nieces and nephews have only turned to the movies, my friends won't go, and my brother/sister-in-laws won't go!

We'll think of something! We have to go!

Okay, so I really didn't get into HP until the 4th one, when Aerinpegadrak read me the first chapter on cleaning day (which was every sunday in the McLaws house), and then I read the whole book from there. After that, I read them in reverse order, then in cronological order. So after that, I went at midnight to get all the rest of the books as they came out. This year I'm finally going to an actual party. (last 2 books were at Wal-Mart, this time going to B and N.)

So I'm really happy for the book. I've taking the next day off to read the book straight through. And I've asked to be off by 2 for the movie.

    Yeah, I'm a little obsessed...

There are midnight showings Tuesday night (11:59PM, actually) of OOTP.
And a 9AM showing Wednesday morning. I think I'm getting dentist work that morning, so I think I'll take the whole day off, and hit the noon showing.

If I hadn't just gone to the dentist today, that woulda been my excuse!
    Good morning, son
    In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
    It was pain
    Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...

I was at the dentist, too, and that's why I have an appointment on 7/11. (Crown work. Ugh.)

Re: Countdown to all things Harry Potter

As of last night, we are officially 1/2 through HBP! We have 15 chapters to read, and just under 4 weeks to do it. I think we're going to make it, barely. If we manage to get ahead, I think I'll save the final chapter to read that last day, before we head out to B&N. (for those who don't know, I'm reading out loud to my 8 year old, and we started with book 1!)

    I am so excited...
