I heard that the Lakers trading Andrew Bynum for Harry Potter
Three-time MVP Larry Bird, noting that Bryant has been the NBA's premier player for years, told Sports Illustrated's Dan Patrick before this week's announcement, "When someone told me the other day that Kobe hadn't won an MVP trophy, it sort of made me feel like I wanted to throw mine away."

Re: Countdown to all things Harry Potter

Frankly, I find it more believable for Dumbledore to come back than Sirius, regardless of what Rowling tries to say. I mean, honestly, forget writer's integrity. If Dumbledore dying was the big deal of the last book, you're not just going to say that he isn't really dead, especially months and months before the book is released. That, and for as many reasons as he is dead, there are at least one if not two BETTER reasons why he isn't, including the fact that as described, the Killing Curse has NEVER caused someone to go flying up in the air or even knock them off their feet. We've only seen it described as them falling or crumpling to the ground. Sure, it may just be "dramatic" for the sake of being dramatic, but breaking continuity like that is quite suspicious.

But I suppose that's another debate for a later time. I just find Dumbledore not being dead a little more likely than Sirius coming back, even if we don't know the nature of the veil.

    Good morning, son
    In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
    It was pain
    Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...

I got myself a Gryfindor Scarf from POA and my best friend a Slytherin one for a welcome-home-now-let's-party gift.

That sounds like a lot of fun, Alice. You'll be able to see them age with each movie.

We finished move #3 on Monday and #4 on Wednesday. We hope to see #5 on either the 11th or 12th. That will give me one week to read #6.

I got my witches costume in the mail last week, along with McGonalga's hat. It looks real cool. A friend at work is making the boys a robe and now they want wands too. Luckily BN has them and I get a discount.

I'm so excited I am having HP dreams!

First three of on them are on ABC Family this weekend. The first two will likely include the cut scenes from the DVD. I expect, as they have in the past that they'd have more current "interviews" with cast members that eventually make their way to the OotP DVD. A few "exclusive" clips of the movie, too.

    Aside:
Quick silly flaw: the ABC Family web site has a CoS preview on its SS web page, an vice-versa. PoA web page seems OK, but it's a commercial for the DVD.

My 12 year old and I have midnight tix at a regular theater, then 9:30 a.m. tickets to see it on IMAX 3D with my six year old too. We're so excited!

She re-read all the books (out of order!?!) recently and I've re-read 5 and 6 twice in the past few months. My nine year old just finished book 6 yesterday, so she's ready for the book and new movie.

We're ing out around here, bigtime! I'm going to be so sad when the book comes out. No more HP.
