Lisa Marie is releasing a duet with her father (think "Unforgettable"'s father/daughter duet) singing "In the Ghetto" tomorrow... I'm interested in hearing what it sounds like. She has some huge shoes to fill...

I'd like to see that!
If Elvis were alive today...he'd really be scratching at the lid of his coffin.
Possibly the most electric live performer ever. Singlehandedly transformed Las Vegas in terms of who went there and what they went there for.
Also instructive in that we should all be careful when eating fried peanut butter-and-banana sandwiches.
I knew he was great when I first saw him on Ed Sullivan. (my firt record was Hound Dog on 78) I've been a fan forever . Saw Him twice in concert AWSOME. and I was stationed in Memphis when he died. The city shut down very sad To me He will be the KING forever !

A lady I used to work with had gone to see Elvis in Vegas with her girlfriends in the 60's. They were up front at the show and got pulled aside by security, who then invited them to come to the after party. They were escorted up the Elvis' suite and got to snoop around before he arrived.
I said "I can't believe you were in Elvis' bedroom, looking at his stuff, and you didn't think to steal a pair of his underwear!"
And then they hung out with Elvis. (And no, no hook up, or so she told me.)
A signature should go here.
I think I like "Devil in Disguise" the best. One of my college teachers was a huge Elvis fan. He took the Kings birthday off every year so we got out of his classes for the day.![]()

I bow to you, I wish you were still around so I could see you live.
I'm back MiceChat
My mother has a photo of him... she was at one of the Gospel Music Association conventions and he happened to show up very briefly -- just enough time to walk in, say something to somebody, and leave quickly. But she got a photo in time!
Can't remember who it was that he was there to speak to -- she worked closely with the major players of Southern Gospel (who are pretty much the same ones today), which would include some members of his backup (J.D. Sumner, etc.).
