    Pink Floyd

The greatest band of all time, I have to say, along with Led Zeppelin. Their music is just so brilliant and the way that it makes you feel - it gives you tingles litening to the second solo in Comfortably Numb, for example, or hearing the start of Dark Side of the Moon, with the thumping heartbeats and the extraordinary Breathe.

    Anyone else like them?

Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin are probably both in my top 5 favorite bands of all time. Do you ever listen to some of the Syd Barret stuff? Shine On You Crazy Diamond is one of his best, I highly recomend.

Shine on you Crazy Diamond was Pink Floyd, not Syd Barrett.

Oh that's right, it was a Waters tribute to Syd. My bad. Still, Syd helped write some good stuff. Piper at the Gates of Dawn is my favorite album from Pink Floyd's Syd Barret days.

Only Syd Barrett album from Floyd days, actually, sad though it may seem.

Still, one of the best Floyd albums ever in my opinion, the psychedelic harmony in songs like Astronomy Domine and Interstellar Overdrive has rarely been beaten, although The Beatles Sargeant Pepper's is still the best ever album to come from psychedelia.

I'm working on an arrangement of "Money" for one of my jazz groups. (That tune swings hard in seven.) Some of the PF tunes are brilliant while others are....kind of out there. Comfortably numb is easily one of my favorites.
