Re: What book are you reading? (or just finished)

I finished the first 7 Sookie Stackhouse novels, so I'm waiting until #8 comes out in paperback at the end of March. (I usually get hardbacks, but I bought the set at Costco, so now they all have to match. )

In the meantime, I'm reading The Year of Living Biblically: One Man's Quest to Follow the Bible as Literally as Possible by A.J. Jacobs. It's hysterical. It's kind of a journal of the whole year. He also wrote The Know-it-All about his year of reading the entire Encylopedia Brittanica. I think that's next on my list after Sookie.

I just finished the twilight series. I read the four books in eight days. Which reminded me of why I don't read books very often. I get a tad obsessed.

We are listening to "Island of the Blue Dolphins," by Scott O'Dell. Somehow I never read it in school so making up for it now.

Just finished Champlain's Dream by David Hackett Fischer. I really enjoyed it. I cannot recall ever hearing the name Samuel de Champlain is school, which really is a shame.

Just started Ebenezer Howard's Garden Cities of To-Morrow. EPCOT could easily be described as a plan for a "Garden City", a concept covered in Walt Disney and the Quest for Community (which I recommend).

    Love this book!

Just finished Animal Husbandry (which "Someone Like You" is based on). I liked the movie way more than the book.

Well, I finished theDean Kontz - it was really really dark and creepy!!!

I'm almost done with Gucci Gucci Coo by Sue Margolis. It'schicl ilt, it's actaully pretty good, many subplots!

I've also started re-reading the Harry Potter series in preparation for the new movie (and because I really don't remember the last book LOL) As always, I'm struck by how much explaination and howsimple the writing is compared the last few... jsut so maazing
    Good morning, son
    In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
    It was pain
    Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...

I'm about halfway through the Roswell series (the TV show was based on these books). I just picked up The Year of Fog at the library yesterday and will start on it next.

Finished "Lady Of Milkweed Manor" didn't much care for it.

Finally finished "Ransom My Heart" by Princess Mia and Meg Cabot. Actually liked that one, though i'm not a big fan of the much more adult romance novels like some that Meg used to write under a different name.
