Muppet Songs That Tickle Your Ivories

Seseme Street is loved for it's catchy, clever tunes as much as the wonderful muppet characters that inhabit he show. Thought that it would be fun to find out about everyone's for your favorites - and the faves of your kids (if you have any). A poll will soon be up.

I can't pick one song or moment but I submit this as a visual aid to this thread.

It's nice to be able to see some of these again.

Thanks Music Mouse. The audio visual aide is extremely thoughtful of you. The D: Daddy Dear Song sure is fun melody for kids to learn about the "d" sound and words that start with the letter. It's not one of the pop songs in my survey. But, it's a merry murthful little ditty just the same.

Rainbow Connection. No other Muppet song compares.

Thanks for the video. This is a most meaningful, warm song. Kermit is a most talented little singing froggie, too. Here are the dazzling lyrics - pure magic I might add -

    RAINBOW CONNECTION

Why are there so many songs about rainbows
and what's on the other side?
Rainbows are visions, but only illusions,
and rainbows have nothing to hide.
So we've been told and some choose to believe it.
I know they're wrong, wait and see.
Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection.
The lovers, the dreamers and me.

Who said that every wish would be heard
and answered when wished on the morning star?
Somebody thought of that and someone believed it.
Look what it's done so far.
What's so amazing that keeps us star gazing
and what do we think we might see?
Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection.
The lovers, the dreamers and me.

All of us under its spell. We know that it's probably magic.

Have you been half asleep and have you heard voices?
I've heard them calling my name.
Is this the sweet sound that called the young sailors.
The voice might be one and the same.
I've heard it too many times to ignore it.
It's something that I'm supposed to be.
Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection.
The lovers, the dreamers and me.

The Rainbow Connection is a very beautiful song. But these days, I really appreciate the wit of Movin' Right Along. Plus, I saw Avenue Q last year, which also plugged the song in the "Mix Tape" number.

I voted for "The Rainbow Connection" and also voted for "others", because I kept thinking some of the songs from the Muppets Take Manhattan were pretty cute, like "Together Again" , "Saying Goodbye" or the Muppet Babies song from that movie.

Loved Muppets Take Manhattan and each of the songs you listed Haley - especially Together Again.

I also love all the songs from 'A Muppet Family Christmas'. I still watch it every year and I still love it.

I like the first part of this part of the movie, it's too cute:
