As stated above, Crybaby is coming to Broadway. Carly Jibson who played Tracy in Hairspray will be playing Pepper.

Re: Should "Cry-Baby" Be a Musical?

I had a friend see it at La Jolla, and read the reviews. She loved the film, but I don't think she liked the stage show quite as much. The reviews were mixed, and most seemed to say it was a bit mediocre; not innovative from other rock-and-roll 50's stage musicals at all.

Perhaps re-tooling before Broadway can make it a bit better, as the storyline of Crybaby itself is quite fun! I probably wouldn't pay to see it, though.

Oh this was a staple at all our sleepovers back in the day. I hope the stage production is good!

I was really bummed that I missed the showing in San Diego.. CryBaby is one of my favorite movies of all time!! I hope it does well on Broadway, and that I can one day see it!
