    Re: Favorite collection or series?

I don't read much anymore (it gives me a major headache...stupid vision). But I read a lot as a child. My favorites were the Judy Blume books. I still have the entire set from when I was a kid and I can't wait till my daughter is old enough to read them.

I also liked the Ramona series.

    A little piece of heaven

I just finished the Heather Wells series. Very cute.
I usually don't read series, but Babysitters Club was my favorite as a kid.

As a kid I loved Wayside Stories, the Babysitters Club Little Sister books, Encyclopedia Brown, the Beverly Cleary books and the Big Red series (and the other dog books by Jim Kjelgaard), The Chronicles of Narnia and the Choose your own Adventure books - and all this isn't even the tip of the iceburg of what I read as a child.

These days the only series I'm really into are The First North American series (my favorites are definiely People of the River and People of the Lakes) and the Anasazi Mystery series (both sets of series are written by the same couple).

    Oh - and Harry Potter.

    Re: Favorite collection or series?

When I was a kid, the Encyclopedia Brown and Choose Your Own Adventure series were my favorites.

The Hitchhikers Trilogy is one that I love... although, I found the third to be the weakest of them, actually!

Series of Unfortunate Events is a great series.... haven't read all of the books yet, though.

Harry Potter is also great... again, yet to actually read all of them.

The Oz books are great quick reads... got all 14 of Baum's books. I've yet to get much of other authors. This is actually what I'm trying to work my way through. It's quite a flexible concept that I doubt that this series will ever actually end.

If two books are considered as a series, I'll go for the Alice books (obviously).

I'm enjoying the Looking Glass Wars trilogy so far... can't wait till the third book!

I enjoy what I've read of the Ring books so far....

ok. I have too many books that I need to read! ARRRGGGHHH!!! No more buying books until I can't get through these decently.

What about TraceCub, who beat me to it in the previous post?

Everybody in my school just about read the Encyclopedia Brown books... those were basically the Hardy Boys of the 80s.

I'm so glad there's other Encyclopedia Brown readers out there - I was the only one in my class who loved them!
