I thought it was funny and unrealistic. Why would you bring a child to a consultation with a doctor....omg...and her nose is bigger after. can you imagine, "I'm having bandages here and I will be so pretty after."....then after, 'mommy you look the same...except for your giant nose."....
I am laughing so hard at this. Where do I begin? There's the lesson that it's okay to hate what you look like and aspire to be something else, there's the lesson of how quick and easy is the best way to go, then there is the lesson that you are only beautiful if others think you are.

Maybe it just needs to be presented differently. But the kids have no control over what their parents do. Something that will help the parents tell their kids why they just got beat up by the doctor *is* needed.
This isn't about giving self esteem issues to kids. It's about not traumatizing the kids due to their parents' insecurities.
Not all plastic surgery is about people insecure about themselves... so, maybe presenting it from that kind of angle over the beauty angle would be better.
