    360 NXE is live!

Start up your 360 and your going to be prompted to do a system update to get the mew XBE dashboard. This is a mandatory install so you Arcade owners are going to need to get some kind of storage media to put this on.

I was expecting a long download, but it was probably about 20-30 seconds with a 90 second install. Very impressive! I usually have to update my PS3 overnight just for a patch let alone a completely new GUI.

I just built my first avatar and I'm ripping my first game to drive now and will tell you how it works later.

Just finished ripping GH:WT and RB2 to the hard drive. Each is about 6.5GB and took about 5 minutes. This is going to be a feature that you are going to need a lot of storage for so it may be time to upgrade to a 60GB or 120GB harddrive. Load times on RB2 are significantly faster now. You also don't have to listen to the DVD drive whirring in the background anymore.

Can every single game be ripped to the hard drive? Too bad we don't get the Netflix option in Canada, I would seriously consider it.

The Miis, I mean avatars, are quite nice:

yep netflix is the first thing i tested out.
it works pretty well, load times arent bad, quality is good.

downside is you can only browse through the titles that you already have in your 'instant' queue on the netflix website...you can't browse through the entire library of available instant titles directly from the xbox
at least when you add something to your queue, the xbox updates and the movie is available within seconds for viewing.

i have noticed that load times in general on the dashboard seem to take longer, and i have gotten a few errors. hopefully they work these things out and the benefit of new features outweigh problems.

I think its amazing! Watched a movie last night in HD, and canceled all but my basic cable. I'm a fan.

All games can be ripped but not all will benefit. The Orange Box is supposed to be greatly improved, but Halo 3 could actually be slower.

Great, this will give me something to do tonight. As for Netflix, guess I have to update my queue now.

Netflix streaming requires a Live! Gold account.

For anybody that has an Arcade, MS is offering a free 512mb memory card or a 20GB hard drive for $20.

    Re: 360 NXE is live!

Got the NXE earlier this week. Netflix is great, party system is sweet and the game install option is a nice improvement for most games. It had more avatar clothing than the final version did that came out yesterday which is odd but I guess they'll add more over time. Any how it's surpased my expectations and the now organized setup is sweet! Anyone notice that certain themes change the background behind your friends?

Yeah, my local Best Buy had them when I picked up my 120 harddrive and I thought the same thing...

Oh the fun we had together and how I miss him so.

it automatically added all the instant views that were already in my mailing queue. I had issues trying to find the instant view movies, but I kind of got the hang of it now. We're watching our second movie now.

I finally used my free month of gold card that came with the xbox a year ago.
