Shoreline Park... its a work in progress but I might as well show it off

Anyhow I know this forum is pretty much dead but I figured I would post some videos and maybe a picture or two of my work in Progress park... I call it Shoreline Park and I took some inspiration from seaside parks and created my own awesome little boardwalk type of park jam packed with coasters.

Now most people post pictures when they start a thread but since I dont have many pictures yet of my park I will start with some videos and ride throughs of the rides and layout... if this thread gets a few hits I might have some pictures taken and share those too. That and I just havent taken the time to take pictures but since I posted the descriptions of the rides I will take some pictures and pict them under the attraction name when I have time this weekend

Now as this is a work in progress you might notice some blank space in some of the videos.... keep in mind I am almost completely done at filling in the blank space at this point but maybe not so much when I was doing the video for it.

Also for those who love their customer scenery please keep in mind I refuse to use it... I dont like custom scenery because I downloaded a pack one time and it had something you had to actually install to your computer, well I got some virus from some pack and refuse to use it after that happened!

Now for a description of the park....

The park includes one massive Waterpark at the main entrance that is Built on a large hill. The waterpark features many types of slides and a variety of themed scenery. The main area of the park is pretty much the patch of everything with the rides and roller coaasters... the on the Boardwalk I put a Skyway from one end to the other and will be building some shops and stalls. in the center going out to the ocean I built a Pier complete with a Space Shot Ride, Dolphin and Whale Show, and lots of shops

    Atlantica Beach Waterpark

No videos have been done of this area yet but this is the main waterpark at the main entrance to the park. I built a large Hill near the end of the park to house some large and fast speed slides... Inspiration actually came from Disneys Blizzard Beach and Summit Plummet as I wanted a freefall water slide to be housed here along with some fast vortex style slides that go into the large mountain. Along with those slides I built a vast assortment of slides and pools all leading up to the massive "Stairway to Heaven" which houses the speed slides. As an incentive to have my peeps venture up there to the top [its a long uphill walk to reach those 3 attractions] I added a pool and some jacuzzis at the top

    Oceanside Pier

This is the actual Pier section of the park... from the main entrance its pretty much a straight shot out to the pier and a straight walk. For the pier I added a lot of shops and food stalls to give peeps an incentive to walk all the way to the backside of the park. I originally left the pier without any major rides or attractions but realized I needed something to bring people to the backside so I added a free fall tower to get people to the back so they could view my Dolphin and Killer Whale Shows.

    Shoreline Park

This is the main park... there are quite a few Roller Coasters blended into this area with a lot of flat rides. Here is a ride list.

    Coasters

Xtreme Dragstrip - [similar to Superman the ride at Six Flags, fast launch up and then you go back]

SPEED Demon - [Similar to Top Thrill Dragster at Cedar Point, its about 425 feet and instead of just one twist going down it does 2 and it has a wider crest to build better anticipation over the crest]

Dipping Thunder - [a classic wooden coaster next to the actual walkway by the beach. No seaside park is without it]

Blackbeard: The Treasure Typhoon - [Typical inverted B&M coaster that makes 9 inversions... very high intensity but very popular and peeps will ride it]

    Voltron Teleportation
    - [Indoor LSM Bowl coaster... as with these types of rides the track is compact, it twists and fits into itself and its indoors. I added some lasers and robots to spice it up]

    Maxximum Overdrive
    - [255 feet and a classic Hypercoaster... I love adding airtime to my coasters and this is no exception, Camelbacks are very present here]

    Thrill Rides

Raging Rapids - [a ravier rapids attractions with an old west theme, Tucked in between the big turn on Maxximum overdrive and blackbeard's zero g roll]

Mine Shafter - [a mine shaft drop ride tucked in the middle of the large turn on Maxximum overdrive]

Gravitron - [classic Gravitron ride on the backside of Voltron teleportation]

The Skyjump - [ a knotts classic, I had to add one in my park to remember it]

The Hurricane - [a giant Frisbee attraction, located near dipping thunder]

Tsunami - [a "pounding surf" attraction located near dipping thunder]

Acrophobia - [a Gyration tower with a freefall drop, loacated inside Maxximum Overdrives large First turn]

    The Zipper
    - [classic Zipper ride located near SPEED Demon's crest]

Waveswinger - [classic swing ride that most everyplace has]

Rolling Riptide - [inspiration from Knotts riptide but its a top spin located near SPEED Demons station]

    Oceanview Drop
    - [an S&S tower drop ride on the pier at the end]

The Octopus - [just like that classic spider ride, only it looks like an octopus]

Seastar typhoon - [Classic wipeout ride like most carnivals and boardwalks have]

    The Spin Out
    - [classic flat ride located near SPEED Demons brake run]

    Animal and Sea life attractions

Orcatainment - [a killer whale show at the end of the pier]

Dolphin Show - [a Dolphin show at the end of the pier]

Shoreline Park Aquarium - [located next to blackbeard, this Aquarium has all types of sealife to explore]

Oceanwalk - [near Oceanside pier entrance... not really a ride but I made an underwater pathway starting at the beach, leading into the ocean and added some atlantis scenery... imagine walking into the real ocean and viewing real ocean life]

    Haunted/Terror Attractions

Alice's 3D House of Nightmares - [a classic haunted house dark ride using the Chsire cat ride, located between the Sky Jump and Blackbeard... since its RCT3 you cant add people inside scaring you but use your imagination and pretend theres live people inside scaring you... Welcome to the pits of Alice's mind, put on 3D glasses and escape the demented asylum to face the Jabberwocky's teeth that bite and Queen of Hearts who wants off with your head]

The Labyrinth - [located near main pathway and using the house of mirrors... since the mirror maze is small just pretend theres a stairway that leads underground to a larger part of the maze... get lost in this horrifying mirror maze and escape the Labyrinth and its illusions lurking beyond the mirrors, whats at the ends of this maze... well you have to find your way through thosands of mirrors, secret passageways, and dark corridors to find out]

Killer Clown Carnage in 3D Clownvision - [located on main pathway and using the clown fun house attraction... again just pretend that theres a stairway to a larger underground maze... Clowns have invaded Shoreline Parks Fabulous Fun House and invite you to play their twisted carnival games, put on your 3D Glasses and walk through to find out why they want to meat you to play a game... what do you have to lose, your only bet to win the game is your life]

    Gentle Rides

Kara Oki's Para Para Dance party
    - [located near SPEED Demons Brake run.... come and dance the japanese club style of Para Para dancing with Kara Oki]

    Shoreline Park Carousel
    - [indoor Carousel located near Xtreme Dragstip and SPEED Demon]

Bumper Derby - [Bumper Car house by Dipping thunder]

Shoreline Park Ferris wheel - Get ocean views and awesome sights of the park from this large Ferris Wheel on the main walkway of the beach]

    Transport Rides

    Seaside Skyway
    - [Glide over the beach from one side to the other]

Shoreline Monorial - [take a monorail to any place in the park you need to be, and also take in the sights of riding in a monorail over the ocean]

    Extreme Rides

Sky High Beach Blaster - [This ride is attached to 3 bungee cords and it will launch you in the air giving you ocean and park views and a white knuckle thrill of ejection]

Skyscraper - [Classic Spin Doctor ride... right along the beach and on the beachside walkway ride this large sky scraping ride for views of the ocean and a thrilling pull of G force]

    Videos

As promised here are some videos of what I have so far from my park. Keep in mind for the night video I do need more lighting in the park but its a work in progress. Also keep in mind my camera skills are not the best... its so difficult when filming a video to do the camera... also for some reason when I upload the video to youtube it gets all grainy which isnt too good but oh well.....

Here is the first video that shows off SPEED Demon, Xtreme Dragstrip, Alice's 3D House of Nightmares, and Maximum Overdrive

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=http:...?v=5fH9qRTZcfwThis one is for Voltron Teleportation

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=http:...?v=iwOIvEdT0A0Then this one is a night view of my park along with my many flat rides and my completed section which is the area that Houses SPEED Demon. I included another ride on SPEED Demon at night, Then my inverted Coaster -Blackbeard: The Treasure Typhoon-, a bit of the pier with the dolphin show, and my wooden coaster Dipping Thunder.

Re: Shoreline Park... its a work in progress but I might as well show it off

update... the park has a new attraction and pictures are uploading to my Photobucket as I post this.... heres a bit of a few samples as the pictures are going to take a while to all upload

The Eastside of the park... [the New Attraction is the Black Building and its called Pandora's Box... and believe me it's something you wont want to miss but unfortunately I wont tell you what type of ride is in that building until I post the pictures... though if you look closely you can see supports of some sort so its kinda obvious its a coaster of some type... but to find out what I did... you have to wait until I post pics and videos of it].. also you can see Atlantica Waterpark in the front

The Westside of the park... yes its home to two menacing coasters that break the speed and height records... SPEED Demon is the on with the giant Tophat and crest and Xtreme Dragstrip is the Reverse Freefall coaster... right near the beachside you can see Dipping Thunder... every classic seaside park needs a wooden coaster an mine is no exception.

The whole park and the Pier... pretty much a daytime overview of the whole park including the ocean and the pier... as you can see work needs to be done on a lot but all in good time... rome wasnt built in a day.

This should hold everyone over while the rest of the pitures of the individual attractions are posting so enjoy this for now

You are doing real well and I think it's a great looking Park. You are working on it so I know it will get better.

As to making the videos, there are tricks you need to learn to get rid of the control panel icons and that annoying blue box on Coaster Cam that pops up each time you touch the mouse. And the Flying Camera makes a much better way to do things like overall Park shots and like the one you did of the Voltron Coaster in it's Show Building. PM me if you want some tips so we don't take up a lot of space here. The Park is very good and I know you will just make it better and better as you work on it.

I don't use custom scenery anymore only. It just caused way too many problems with the computer. I do have the RCT3 Platinum set and it's got enough stuff to keep me happy for a long time. Wild and Soaked really add a lot of fun stuff.

Do you have Platinum or just the basic game plus the add on for Soaked? Either way you need to know several things about animals and enclosures before you start with a zoo or safari park. I found out the hard way and these are not in the manual, they are the things you must "Discover" on your own, and if they are not done it can kill your park real quick.

Re: Shoreline Park... its a work in progress but I might as well show it off

I did promise more pictures but Photobucket had some problems with only uploading a certain amount at a time with the bulk uploader so I am uploading them one by one

    heres what I got though...

    Oceanside Pier

This is the actual Pier section of the park... from the main entrance its pretty much a straight shot out to the pier and a straight walk. I have Platinum... Yeah I know the thing about animals and enclosures... they can escape then you have to play the blowdart minigame before they go wild on your guests... and you have to have the right enclosure and houses for the animals in addition to other stuff... not to mention you have to have the enclosure reachable to be fixed and you must have enjoyment for your animals at all times... its more work than anything else

But still... a Zoo would be nice

Re: Shoreline Park... its a work in progress but I might as well show it off

OK. Those are fine but the one they don't tell you is how to get a mechanic to fix broken fences. It's the stupidest thing ever but it works. You know that in that enclosure tool there is one for viewing platforms. Every compound MUST have at least one. Put them next to a path or create a path right next to them so the peeps can get in and view. Then put a mechanic on the path and assign him a pathway that goes to the viewing platform. He doesn't have to go in, just to the exit. Set the time for inspection to 10 minutes. If you spot a broken fence, click on the viewing platform for that compound and click on the icon to call a mechanic. he will go to the platform and go to the box on the pole at the exit and either kick it or bend down and work something. Either case all the broken fences for that compound will immediately be repaired.

The compounds have to have there feeding schedules set as well. Just dropping the habitat down will have a default setting of Normal. If you have lots of animals in a compound, have at least two habitats and set the feeding schedules to Often.

Doing these two things with save you countless hours of threatened animals being picked up because the are loose or starving. Make sure there are no hills or trees blocking the entrance to the habitats as the animals will not go into the habitat if there are hill or tree barriers. Also the keeper won't go into the shed if there are hills or trees in front of it. Keep the area around the habitats hill and tree free.

I learned all these things the hard way.

Re: Shoreline Park... its a work in progress but I might as well show it off

Well I was going to save the animals for last if I was to do anything since those are always more pain than gain... but maybe extending the waterpark would be nice... or just leaving it as is for the time being is a better idea.

anyhow one more update before I go to bed since I have work tomorrow.

Shoreline Park Aquarium - [located next to blackbeard, this Aquarium has all types of sealife to explore] ***this one needs a pretty entrance still***

I accidently left this one out but this is a teacup ride that I created... obviously not to rip on Disneyland I called this "The Mad Hatter's Tea Party" instead of "The Mad Tea Party"... but its still the same basic premise

Gravitron - [classic Gravitron ride on the backside of Voltron teleportation]

    Extreme Rides

Sky High Beach Blaster - [This ride is attached to 3 bungee cords and it will launch you in the air giving you ocean and park views and a white knuckle thrill of ejection]

Skyscraper - [Classic Spin Doctor ride... right along the beach and on the beachside walkway ride this large sky scraping ride for views of the ocean and a thrilling pull of G force]

Here is some overview pics of Blackbeard: The Treasure Typhoon pretty much showing the intense track.

and the Rollercoaster station made to look like a pirates fortress

And finally here is my newest ride... Pandora's Box... Yes its a big black building and it stands out like a sore thumb but thats kinda the point... It was either that or name it Borg Cube and make everyone use their imagination and pretend its one giant Borg Cube.

Now since this is RTC3 you have to use your imagination and pretend its a pitch black building you get blasted into [not even any speck of light... think Neptunes Fury at Raging Waters... complete and total darkness hence the name Pandora's Box]... thats why i didnt add fog or lasers... its supposed to be Pitch Black but the game wont allow that to happen.

Now as I said theres some type of coaster inside... and let me say its compact, fills in a very small footprint, and has 8 different inversions, including a bit of the ride taking place upside down.

Well the moment of truth was that I used the Extended Coaster as this type of ride had so many types of inversions and the possibilities were endless to make some intense compact ride that can have a building put around it

The cool thing is that the entry for the ride as shown below takes place far outside the building and the queue goes underground a distance to the entrance.

Re: Shoreline Park... its a work in progress but I might as well show it off

I love the pier with the monorail over the ocean, the free fall and the two water shows right next to each other. It really looks great. The whole Park is looking great as well. I hope you can use the flying camera to do a nice video of the whole Park as it's just looking really great.
