Anybody ever have to send their Wii in for repair?

Morning Games Lounge,

Just wondering if anybody in here has ever had to send their Wii in for repair. On EVERY game were getting the message that it can't read the disc. According to Nintendo.com there is a problem that requires repair.

And since our Wii is over 2 years old, the Warranty is no longer valid and will cost $75 to fix.

I don't want to spend $75 if it's something simple to repair, but then again, there definitely is a problem although it's only been doing it since this morning.

I've tried unplugging the entire console, etc but it still does it. All VC games still work, just not the discs.

We had to. Our Wii was about a year old and we were getting the same type of error. We didn't send ours in there was a place near us that was suggested by phone to get it fixed and we haven't had that problem since.

No. I've had mine since Summer '07 and fortunately haven't had a problem yet. Wonder what the problem with yours could be.

Yeah, there is no place close to us. So we'll be Wii-less for about 2 weeks.

I tried to copy as much stuff as possible to the SD card, but much of it couldn't, not sure why that is. I swear if we lose our RB2 data I'm going to be quite upset.

At least Zelda got copied over.

I need to send my Wii for repair. I've had it almost two years and I'm getting weird lines and dots on the screen. Bummer.

We were playing the GC tonight, man, I forgot some of the games we had. Fun stuff.

I'm not a techie kinda person, but I do know that a consistent disc read error means pretty much do not pass go, do not collect $200, your Wii needs a servicin'. Bummer.

We had some kind of system memory error just 3-4 months after the Wii came out. Luckily we live close enough to drive over to Ninetendo and they swapped it out while I waited.

Dustin had the same problem and sent his in. They fixed it, send it back and it turned out very well. Go for it.
