So the news is now official; 3D Realms has closed it's doors, and the 12 year wait those die hard gamers have suffered waiting for Duke Nukem Forever ends not with a bang, but with a whimper.
Hail to the King, baby! DN3D was still one of the most fun games ever made. At least now the charade is over.
It was fun, but the joke had to stop getting laughs at some point.
Well, who can honestly say that they are surprized with this news? Other than keeping the longest running joke in the gaming industry alive, there was not any point in the company staying in business.
It's probably best that they never released anything that would tarnish ole Duke's legacy. At least they helped get the term "Vaporware" coined and keep a little hope alive all these years.
