Any recommended grapics card for RCT3?

I need to update my grapics card before I get Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 and wanted to know if anyone had any recommendations for what type of card I should get for a decent price?

I would recommend anything higher than an ATI RADEON 9600....should be fine for running RCT3...

Do you know how much that usually would cost? I hope not much over a hundred or two.

Any RADEON AGP card with 128 MB of Ram or more should work quite well for RCT3. You can get a 9600 @ New Egg or some other comperable online store for under $70.

Agreed. I was typing my response when Demigod's came up. I'd also like to add that if you have a decent amount of RAM on your computer (>512 MB) and a good processer (P4 3Ghz +), a 9600 world work just fine (and be cheaper)...

For example: $67 could buy you this : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102289

well I only have 256 MB of RAm. Does that mean that RCT3 won't work on my computer?

256 MB or RAM might be ok for playing the scenarios. If you want to build in Sandbox mode though, it probably won't run too smooth unless you keep your parks pretty small.

And RAM is pretty cheap right now. You could probably upgrade both your RAM and your Graphics Card for around $100...

Re: Any recommended grapics card for RCT3?

Okay first thank you for all of your info but I have to vent a little bit because just trying to figure out if this game is worth taking the financial risk can be quite frustrating at times. You see, I just got my computer a few months ago, after RCT3 was made. I thought all these PC games had to fit in and apply to basic computer standards being built these days? What kind of computer must I have in order to make this darn game work? Why can't they make it for just the average person who has a brand new 2400 dell dimesion desktop with 256 MB of RAM to play? I think Atari, should have some system files that come with the game so that when you install the game, it makes it so the game will install all this extra RAM and all so the game could play good. I heard to many bad reviews about this game and even with all your good advice I will decline to update my new computer and waste my money for something, such as RAM, that should not be a problem. Why can't they make the game easy to play and install? Is it really that hard to do? That should be something that Atari should fix so that we people with normal computers can play it without blowing money on getting more RAM and stuff like that.

If in doubt, try the Windows game advisor. It will let you know if you can play it on your pc and how much you should upgrade to if the program won't run:
