They've done a lot of work on it - seems to me it's more fun to play.

Or it could be that I haven't been on in a year...

I haven't played either yet... tho I hear good things, many people I know that have played CoH/CoV say it's fun for like a month, and then... not so much.

I wish I could still play Everquest, but I simply don't have the time! (Plus my social life has gone into Oblivion.... and I haven't even OPENED Guild Wars yet.. lol)

Re: City of Heroes/City of Villians?

WoW addict here, but I playd CoH from late beta through last November, almost 20 months.

I enjoyed it in the beginning, but the repetiveness got to me quickly. Only thing that kept me in it was the RP interaction of my Supergroup. Once that fell apart, the game went quickly by the wayside. I have heard that CoV has instilled alot of new interest, but from the beta, it was the same game with a few different powers and AT's.

Virtue server here. Star Tracker (50) and Wraith Blade (41) were my mains.

I don't really post on these boards but saw this thread. I play both CoH/V. Usually on Pinnacle but have a bunch on Protector as well. Hubby used to play too but just lost interest. I've got so many alts between the 2 and us having 2 accts. LOL

I used to play, don't anymore, my boyfriend and I game jump because we can't seem to find the same gaming element we had when we started playing Everquest.

Currently I am hooked up to WOW but I may cancel that and go for CoH again, I liked the game and I never got bored with it. LOL

Well if I remember and the next time they send an email out to give a friend a free trial I will pass it on to you. They do them here and there. I don't ever have anyone to send it off to so I usually just delete them.

Re: City of Heroes/City of Villians?

Are CoH and CoV connected? Or are they considered two completely separate games? Could a league of superheroes from CoH take on a league of supervillains from CoV?

CoV is a standalone, but if you have CoH then it acts like an expansion.

And CoH/CoV does now have a Player vs Player, Hero vs Villain element to it, with seperate zones for specifically that type of play.

Re: City of Heroes/City of Villians?

Thanks for clearing that up for me, Demigod. I've got an in-game SWG friend who is about to jump into CoV, supposedly because of the profession system they're able to maintain (the SWG system has been dumbed-down significantly).

Plus, she's just plain evil.... so I think she's looking forward to raising a super-villain of her own.

So tell us about Mr. Graviton.....

Re: City of Heroes/City of Villians?

Just a little note, CoV is strictly Villains, and CoH strictly Heroes, so if you want a Hero you have to have CoH, and vicey versey... Mr. Graviton is an alien (although he looks human) from the planet Beta Prime. He was a scientist, and discovered that his planet was on the verge of destroying itself. He came up with an invention to attempt to stop this, but it malfunctioned. This malfunction caused him to be able to control the force of gravity, along with being able to heal himself. This ultimately saved him from destruction - but not his home planet. In his grief, he came to Earth and has since decided to make it his home. He helps to protect it by using his powers for the common good. Howz that?
