As if you haven't heard of Tigger.

Tigger, a beloved character we all truely love, if he isn't helping his other friends he is helping Pooh get hunny out of a tree by his bouncy tail in the Hundred Acre Woods.

An orange black stripped tiger, but some days he wonders if he is black with orange. Cute cuddly character right?

    Apparently wrong!

A few days ago in social(Geography), as always the teacher asks about the current events around.. Erg, car crashes, global warming, fires, the usual, concerd i should be but the disney story caught my attention.
A student mentioned Tigger hitting a kid in WDW for a picture, the kid claimed it hurt his arm when Tigger was clearly trying to grab him as the boy tripped. (students opion.) I heard this before, that disney was being sued, but not till that class i learned why.
I find this rather wrong, i felt so sad for that kid... Than i heard it was a teenager..I mean sue for hitting little boy, but this kid is a teenager which to me looked like he tripped back and Tigger was helping him up, just my opion.

The video i saw was bad and blurry, got another copy. I would love to see it, what are your opions on this inciedent?

My opinion is,WHAT! People who work at WDW/DLR are supposed to be nice because..well they're story characters lol. They probably wouldn't even be hired if they were rough around kids...roar that teenager! Also,I believe there was a thread about this somewhere else..

Well from the thread in the News section, I am with you. Why would a teen even be complaining about that anyways?

Uh..Dance, multiple thread where merged on this subject somewhere in the MiceChat Main Lounge. Anyways, I'll see if I can get the link for the video..

    http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/...news-headlines

It mostly looks like since there are other children at Tigger's feet, he might have tripped, hanged on to the teen's arm and tried to hold on to the shoulder and smacked him across the head. I might be right. I might be wrong. Lets let Disney take that decision.

Wow, how awful; the person tries to keep the kid from getting hurt, and this is how they repay the CM. Simply awful.

Re: As if you haven't heard of Tigger.

Here is the "main" MiceChat thread on the subject

    http://www.micechat.com/forums/showthread.php?t=49742

Below is one of my posts in that thread. The general concensus (at least on MC) is that the kid was messing with Tigger (The CM says he was being choked). Tigger turned and tried to get the kid to stop. The limited sight lines and overall bulkiness of the costume does not make it easy to move around. What looks like a punch was just a lucky (or unlucky) swing.

The kids father comes across as pretty much a blowhard loudmouth. The whole lawsuit seems to be a money making effort.

In the original thread someone (Barfownz I believe) asked why a kid would want to choke tigger in the first place.

This was my reply (a number of people agreed with me BTW)

Edit: This http://youtube.com/watch?v=p0ifdL7aegg&NR is also a very good thing to watch. The poster explains some of the audio and does a bit of an analysis.

Take a good look at the kid in the video as well - baggy pants, wallet chain, biker gloves, ripped t-shirt and how amazingly he looks halfway decent wearing a clean blue t-shirt and no gloves for the news interview.

Who wears biker gloves to WDW ?

    -dave

At the risk of being VERY sterotypical

    1) Does not seem to come from too good of an enviroment - family wise. Just judging from the way the father reacts.

    2) Not exactly dressed like mister clean and neat (in the video)

    3) Kind of "wimpy" / "geekey" looking - like he gets beat up a lot and is trying to fit in.

    4) Plus the kid is in that age where hormones start raging, he is trying to become an adult but is not quite ready, trying to prove himself, etc.

Some kids, in the right family setting, handle this by taking leadership roles - be it sports or academics or clubs. Others get involved in arts. Other rebel by dressing differently or staying out late.

Others, think along the lines of "I am too cool to be seen taking a video with Tigger, but check this out, I am going to mess with him and there is not a thing he can do about it because this is Disney. The when I get home and my friends see the video and laugh at me, I can say yeah, but while I was standing there I was pulling on his back or whatever he was doing"

Now before I get destroyed here...

Yes, I am being very judgemental. Yes, I am jumping to conclusions. and Yes, there is no proof that this is the way it went down. And yes, not all tweens who wear baggy pants and wallet chains are bad kids. I am just throwing out one possible scenario, seeing as Barfonwitz asked why some kid might want to choke a Tigger.

Re: As if you haven't heard of Tigger.

I was reading this, and I saw "little boy". so I'm like, "Oh ok, I understand." But TEENAGER?! That's like me! I'm sure the kid tripped over maybe a stick on the ground or something, and Tigger helped him up, and the kid decides to have a spaz ( kinda like the penguin in my avatar ). I can't stand when people blame Disney for stuff that isn't even worth complaining about! Are people allowed to do this?! Weren't there any witnesses? What about the castmembers that travel around with the characters? Don't they have a say in it?

    Concerned WDW Visitor

P.S. Dave - I agree 100%. I don't think you're being too judgemental, and I DO agree with one thing.... Who in the HECK where's biker gloves to WDW?! And he DID look geeky, and the wallet chain... what the heck? I mean, for real. The video says it all. The kid was pulling tigger's zipper, and the quick witted Tigger was there to stop it. The kid reacted a little too quickly, which says to me that he knew what he did was wrong, but wasn't thinking Tigger would notice until it was too late. That kid had NO business to be doing that, and imagine if the outfit would have come off! That would have ruined the magic and scarred kids for life.... I'm not even kidding. That's not right.
