Exclamation What type of accessories do you need for the Wii?

I'm trying to order a Wii on Toys R Us' website right now, they have some bundle packs in stock and I want to get everything all at once. Which controllers should I get and how many? What does the Wii already come with? Looks like this bundle pack has two games and a memory card included. If anyone can help me out with this ASAP that would be great!

    What/who will be using it?

You'll need a controller for everyone who's going to play. If you want to play Gamecube games, you'll need to buy a GC controller if you don't have one. If you want to play classic Nintendo games you'll need a classic controller...

The console comes with one set of Wiimote and nunchuck controllers. You want to pick up at least one extra Wiimote and if you can, pick up nunchuks to match.

the cards are standard SD and can be bought cheaply anywhere.

    what games?

Okay, the bundle that I'm going to order has the console, a wii mote, 1GB memory card, Elebits & Rayman's Raving Rabid's games. I'm also going to order Zelda, haven't seen it anywhere in stores and the classic controllers (2 of them). They do not have the nunchucks or wii motes in stock. Here's the link.

they're charging roughle $60 for a 1 gig card, you can find it cheaper, but if thats the only way to get a Wii go for it. I'm hearing good things about Rayman and Elebits is supposed to be ok. I bought Smooth Moves and Zelda, but I'm spending more time with Smooth Moves.

Re: What type of accessories do you need for the Wii?

I know I want to get Smooth Moves too but I've seen that in stock in stores wherever I go so I'll buy that later when I get the Wii. I still have my $25 g/c to Best Buy and a $50 g/c from American Express that I can use on games or the controllers that look like they're hard to find. Only question I have on this bundle pack, all the Wii's come with Wii Sports, don't they? So I'm assuming it would be correct to expect that game too?

It comes with Wii Sports. Bree loves the bowling and boxing games.

I heard it's a fun game. Man, I can't wait to get it now. It's going to be my Christmas when I get that package of goodies. I really wish I would have gotten it in a store but I'm too impatient on waiting. I actually have the cash to buy it from my income tax return and other stuff and there's still none I can find in any stores. Now I'll be one of the lucky ones with a Wii.

Wii Sports is a demo pure and simple. I wouldn't count it as "a free game".

As I said, Bree is having a great time playing the bowling and boxing games. She's part of the MCDA and is using the boxing to help her with her exercise. she really gets into the bobbing, weaving and punching. She's been sore from all of the exercise since we got the system.

My buddy Mark also picked up a Wii when I got mine. For the casual player, this system is easily the best on the market. While my 360 games are way more challenging, my Wii games are more fun.

That's why I wanted the Wii...for fun. I'm definetly not a gamer at all, unless you count The Sims 2, but that I only like to play on PC. Only reason why I enjoyed the PS2 is for the Kingdom Hearts series and well, Dance Dance Revolution. I have the GTA games for it too but I have never been able to beat any of them. I'm not good at the whole shooting type of stuff. Too much of a lover and not enough of a fighter I guess, lol.

If you get the package you are talking about...Rayman Ravin Rabids...is a total blast. Acutally a real work out. Theres a dancing game in it, that is just like DDR, except you use your nunchuks to dance. But it does make you get up and move. I also would recommend getting the extra remote and the nunchuks. That game is is to 4 players so its worth it to spend a lil extra to get both remotes. Zelda is the one my honey has been playing and he really likes it. I love Wii sports pack. Bowling and tennis are a blast, and it really gets you moving. The Wii is really addicting. Once you start playing you won't put it down...unless its to rest your arms....

You guys are getting me more excited than I already am! So it takes up to four controllers on the console? Cool.

If you have Gamecube controllers you wont need a Classic controller. The Gamecube controller works with the VC games. For the original NES and some Genesis games you just flip the Wii Remote sideways (Like a classic NES controller) and play games like that.
