How Rare Is This Item?

Hey all, I just received a Star Of Mickey pin from trades, and i'm not totally sure the rarity of it. Anyone have a comparison to it, or information on it? Here's a picture of it:

Well it was released during the Christmas season of '05, along with the Holiday '05 pin and Happy New Year '06 pin. I would probably be on par with some of the more recent Host pins or some of the older buyable pins, such as the Everest set. Personally I would hold onto it until next Christmas when everyone will be wanting it.

Since it was only sold in the emporium for a limited time during the holiday of 2005 season and was met with a lukewarm reception, this is a pretty rare pin. I have seen them traded for snowmen or pirate quest items and they should be equal to any of the host exclusive pins except for the Mighty Eye and the Racing 07 Pin (which were both released in very small numbers). Ideally, it might be a nice pin to hold onto if you ever want to work up an offer for a high end item like sparrow, stitch or inferno. Obviously the pin is not worth any of those items alone, but I think the key to good offers is quality of items and this pin is pretty rare as far as pins go.

I agree with you too. It's pretty rare and I don't see the pin worn much in VMK.

Yes, but you also don't see much demand for it either... Rarity relies on both availability and public demand.

It does! I haven't really heard of it on VMK and when I asked a friend about the pin he didn't know what it was! Thanks for the information about how you got the pin in VMK goofgeek and I have something else to add about how you got The Star Of Mickey. HOST_Hula gave The Star Of Mickey out on New Years, like the other Hosts that gave our prizes. I don't know how that helps on rarity, but I just thought I would share.

Well it technically lowers the value because now there are more in circulation, instead oif just the poeple that bought one when it was for sale (I can't believe I didn't buy extras...)

I would say it is rare. Not very much in circulation. I also agree with another person above who said to hold onto it until the holiday season and it will become very popular again.

It's getting more in demand!
