Second WoW Expansion Annoucned!

Friday at BlizzCon Blizzard let the cat out of the bag (altho the surprise had apparantly been spoiled a few days ago) about the second expansion to their popular MMORPG World of Warcraft.

ANAHEIM, Calif. -- August 3, 2007 -- Blizzard Entertainment, Inc. today announced plans for the second expansion to World of Warcraft®, its award-winning massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG). Unveiled at the company's BlizzCon™ gaming festival before an audience of more than 8,000 gamers, World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King™ will open the forbidding wasteland of Northrend to exploration by the hardiest adventurers. New levels of power, challenging new dungeons and encounters, an exciting new character profession, and the game's first hero class are just some of the new features awaiting players in Wrath of the Lich King.

I for one am really looking forward to an offical guild bank system, right now i spend anywhere from 1-2 hours a day manging my guild bank and all the donations that are sent in. Getting to go to level 80 doesn't really do it for me, i can't even seem to get myself to 70

seems kinda interesting. i've got alot of BlizzCon kids in the hotel i work at and they were ALL talking about it.

i wanted to hear more about Starcraft II though =/

Sheesh! I'm just now beginning to explore the last expansion and they go and announce another one. If what I've heard is true - that Blizzard is trying to release a new expansion every year - then I will probably be waaaay behind and end up ditching WoW.

well it did take them 15 months between when they released BC and when they announced it...so i'm sure it'll be a while before its released....


i'm not even into the BC stuff yet..my main is only level 49 and i just disocvered the fun of the BG's...i'll prolly be here for a while

I know what you mean, I just thought the same thing. It's also a lot of money to spend, especially if you're behind. I don't know if it's worth it, for me at least. Oh well.

it will more then likely be another year before its out which will be nice seeing how my main is only a Lvl56 Orc hunter.

From rumors around WoW it is supposed to be out spring 08, but in reality knowing blizz it will be out winter 08 possibly spring 09. It seems they are trying to compete with all the other big games coming out, but if Pirates Online is cool enough Ill just drop WoW even though I have a 70 Epic Rogue and a 70 Druid...
