    Re: Wii Availability

If you go to www.cheapassgamer.com and go to the forums there's a section at the top titled video game deals. It's a private part of the board so you need to join the board(it's free to do so).

Once you get inside the video game deals section, usually the first 2 threads at the top of the list are pinned, and they list the current and upcoming ads for Target/Circuit City/and Best Buy. Usually they get the ad for the upcoming week about 5 days early, sometimes even more days in advance. They usually even list if the Wii is listed in the ad for that particular companies Sunday flyers. Today Circuit City was supposed to have the Wii in stock at opening.

So with the help of the CAG board info, some luck, an early wake up on a Sunday morning, and a 2 x 4 with some big nails sticking through it, you'll soon be able to get your hands on a Nintendo Wii.

I can't believe they are still hard to get. Took me like 5 months of looking to find one. Of course, there have been like same dozen PS3s at my Best Buy for months!

Each and every single Best Buys will have the Wii NEXT Sunday (16th I think it is). So get to your local BBY early Sunday and you should be fine.

FYI: Our Toys 'R Us had them today, as did Sears.

I used the website www.wiitracker.com to keep track of the wii stocks on different websites and was just able to get one last week from www.costco.com

    Re: Wii Availability

I got my Wii at K-Mart of all places.

Seriously, the places you'd least think of getting a Wii, you may have the most chances at -- places like Sears and K-Mart. Other places get them -- EB Games/Gamestop, Target, Walmart, Toys R Us, Best Buy, Circuit City etc. get them but you really need to be lucky or know when to come.

Either take a morning to call the local stores, or better yet, have a Wii-search morning and head to all of the places above. Eventually, you'll get lucky and there'll be one in stock. Good luck!

    Re: Wii Availability

getting to a store (like BB or CC) on the day their ad starts is a good bet. Otherwise it might help to get some good intel from the kids working the store on when they normally get shipments. I still could not find one reliably locally... but my father has an EB near him he's walked in at lunch time 3 different times and found them (its how we got the 3 in our family).

I looked for weeks, he got them in about 2 days. Golden Goose store...

    Re: Wii Availability

I ended up getting mine in a fluke. I was looking at the Gamestop Wii Tracker, and it had a "More on the way? Yes", next to my store. Since all of those "Yes", means it's generally in overnight shipping, I called the store the next day to see when they would be in. Got off work early, and picked one up around 2pm.

    Re: Wii Availability

My dad has been trying to my husband and I a Wii since we got married in May. He tried everything, so finally he started quizzing store employees. He got these two girls at Best Buy to give him the truck schedule, and they said that they would hold one for him. They took his name down and he left thinking that since they were holding it, he could leave school on time and still one (he's a teacher). Well he got there and there were 2 guys instead. This is how it all played out.

D: Hi. I'm here to get a Wii.
BBE1: Sorry sir, we're all out.
D: The girl yesterday said that one would be held for me. *gives names*
BBE2: I'm not sure why she said that. We're not allowed to hold consoles.
D: Well, that sucks. I'm trying to get one for my daughter and son-in-law. They just had a baby. *pulls out his phone and shows them pictures of my son*
    BBE2: I'll be right back.
    D: *puzzeled*
BBE2: *comes back with Wii* Here sir, last one.
BBE1: Dude, weren't you saving that one for you?
BBE2: I'll get mine next week.
    D: Wow, you're amazing! Thanks!

So, now we have a Wii. I it. I think it's the best, but I will admit my Nintendo bais, so take that as you may.
