Well, when the PS2 is only $130 you are going to see an increase.

I just love how Sony keeps trying to lump in the PS2 with every argument about how bad the PS3 is doing.

Not even to mention that the 360 has been out for a year longer than the PS3 and is still beating it.

That's because it currently has a better library with that extra year lead. The numbers are definitely going up for the ps3 though... I don't think the thing can be called a failure if sales are shooting upwards. Certainly, not nearly as good as what they'd like, but it's not like things are getting worse either.

That doesn't make sense though. The 360 has been out a year longer which means that developers are more comfortable with that system. Remember how crappy the 360's first year was? Every review was something along the lines of "this is supposed to be next gen?"

Sales have been seeing the same spikes they have every time they lower the price.

    The 60GB price drops, spike...

    The 80GB price drops, spike...

    The 40GB comes out, spike...

Honestly, they're running out of lives at this point. Lets see if they can keep it up with the quality of their games now since I doubt they can keep lowering the price forever to keep the sales up.

They should consider coming out with a 20GB with wired controllers, no wireless and backward compatibility and have it priced at $299 to see some real sales numbers.

The Nintendo DS is just killing everything right now. I am amazed at how fast not only the systems but the games are going. The DS is just such a great system and has a huge advantage of not being sold out....yet! And with Target and Best Buy offering giftcards next week with the DS that should help sales even more (not that it needed it).
