Whatever happened to the real Disney Channel and Toon Disney? You may be asking me, "What are you talking about, we already have Disney XD and Disney Channel." But I'm not talking about Hannah Montana, The Jonas Brothers, The Suite Life, Aaron Stone, or any of that crap. If you're one of the younger MCers on the site, and grew up watching this or do not know what I'm talking about, let me elaborate.
I'm talking about stuff like this:

I may be just reminiscing, but this brings up an important discussion IMO.
Back in the late 90's and early 2000s, I always woke up to turn on the TV to Disney as I'd usually do and I'd be watching one of these shows (there are many more, I just selected a few examples). The videos and images above are in no particular order, but they range from Toon Disney, Zoog Disney, Disney Channel, Playhouse Disney, and one in particular was the classic "Imagineer That!" short serial aired during commercials, most similar to the modern As the Bell Rings, Disney 365, or get_connected. This was personally my favorite thing to watch ever, and I unfortunately have a very vague memory of it, but there are luckily 3-4 on YouTube to spare.
It may be just me, but as the years went by the originality and creativity of the television programming gradually started to lack and become dull and uninteresting. To me there was a great appeal to the viewer back then and it appealed to me even as I grew older. But now it appears with Hannah Montana and the Jonas Brothers (MCers who are fans of these bands, skip this paragraph as I'm going to rant a bit), it's really corny and not great for Disney's image.
Also, is it just me, or is it that nowadays that Disney Television appeals more commonly to girls than boys? Sure we have Disney XD for Sports, but is Disney implying that Disney Channel is a television channels for girls more than boys? I remember when I used to watch it it appealed to both sexes equally, rather than just one.
I'm not completely bashing the Disney Channel from today, but there are a couple good things reminiscent of the old DC. To me, Phineas and Ferb is one of them (but obviously more modernized).
I may just be throwing out random rants and scattered opinions, but I just noticed there really is one other thread of this on a different site with the last post from 2006. I thought it would be a good idea to bring this up now in today's world of televising Disney, but I am really curious on what you think of Disney's transition within the past decade.
