I saw the premiere episode tonight, and I must say that I was pleasantly surprised. This is very much a "dramady", drama with some comedy in it, certainly a departure from his stand-up and "Everybody Loves Raymond" days.
Scott Bakula is also among the stars. It examines the issues that men, and people, face at, as tht title suggests, that certain age - I seem to be just a bit older than what these guys are, so maybe that's another reason why it appeals to me.
I thought the pilot episode was poignant, well-written, and I love the use of songs from our youth.
Original episodes air Monday nights on TNT, and repeat Tuesday night on sister channel TBS.
Their opening theme isn't too bad, either..."When I Grow Up to Be A Man" by, you guessed it, The Beach Boys. Which gives them two opening themes for ongoing cable shows. The other is "God Only Knows" which is the opening theme for "Big Love" on HBO.
Thoughts? Did you see the premiere of Men of A Certain Age?
